I remember nexus mod manager, i could download mods wherever i want and they installed automatically in the game folder, so i used to put the mod download directory in a different disk to where the game is and why? because i need that fkng space in that disk. now its not possible and the deployment system is total bs.

what was you thinking, the program itself is beautiful but its also annoying af, the notification tab for example is the most annoying thing what i ever saw in a program.

nexus mod manager worked great for a lot of time why you changed it to a confusing program with tbs features?

please do not take me as a rude person i dont want to insult anybody and you did it great with the program talking about functionality, optimization and with a beatiful interface (excluding the annoying notification tab), im just tired of people doing this kind of things with the programs or the games or whatever they do.

edit: great and now i need to manually change the load order of 80 mods, nice job!

so you make a rude, factually inaccurate post, calling out people who are working incredibly hard on a wonderful piece of code, that you can use FOR FREE to manage your games, but we shouldn't take you as a rude person.

okay, yes, that makes about as much sense as your post.

if you cared to read, cared to educate yourself, cared to make just the least bit of effort, you'd see how wide of the mark your post is. but i rather think that's not going to happen.

Now, take a look at all of the stuff I highlighted, then look at your sentence "Please do not take me as a rude person", and "I didn't want to insult anybody"

Now, sit there and think about how absolutely ironic and hypocritical your statement is, after all of those expletives and insults you threw, and how much of a baby you came across as.

WRONG, you can download mods wherever you want with Vortex as well, not even sure why you tried to lie about that.

You can even set the directory just like you can with NMM, not sure why you tried to lie about that too.

Perhaps, you're not lying, and it's more likely that you didn't spend any time whatsoever reading up on Vortex or watching any tutorials and jumped to the most incorrect conclusion you could, about vortex's mod management.

Then you're missing the ENTIRE POINT, of Vortex.

You don't have to sort manually because Vortex will automatically sort your esps for you, the only thing you'll have to do manually is to pick LOAD BEFORE or LOAD AFTER if Vortex notifies you of a file conflict.

If you would like to put on your Rose Colored Glasses and relive the "Good Old Days" of not knowing if you had file conflicts, and not being able to handle ESLs and Large Mods, then you can do that by clicking the pretty Orange "INSTALL VORTEX" button at the top of every page, then scrolling down a few inches, then you will see these two buttons that you can happily mash away on with your open palms

Wanted to address this in case a newbie reads this and doesn't realize you can already do this.

I personally download all of my downloaded mod zip files onto my Archive drive, but tell Vortex to install the mods into a Vortex mod folder on my Games drive along-side my Steam and other games. No need to place your mod download folder on the same precious game drive, you just need to make sure the installed mod folder is on the same drive as your game. This is all done in settings, like others have explained.

And by "automatically sort", you mean work okay for a week and then destroy your saves for no reason. I added no mods, i changed nothing. My game crashed, the saves corrupted. When i checked Vortex to find the problem, it had glitched the links for no apparent reason. Now, before you try that crap of telling me I didn't read, or watch the tutorials, I did. This is also not my first rodeo. I've been gaming and working with software since the TRS-80 built by Mac back in the 80's. I'm very thorough and very knowledgeable so no, don't try talking down to me like you did the other poster. Vortex is broken and I am tired of people like you talking like you know something and nobody else does. I have found the problem. It's with the way Vortex handles linking the mods. It's like losing your memory, the links break and it all falls apart.

Hey to be fair you have a point i hated it from the start but now i like it i was hella mad because i had to figure it out all again but i like the new modern feel its gonna be buggy and unstable at first then hopefully it will get better,

now i know its not going be entirely smooth there's going to be problems but to be honest in my opinion NMM was getting kinda outdated but things sometimes gotta change afterall they provide this amazing platform for free for everyone to use and they always are trying to improve it

You are more than correct about Vortex, I have used NMM for years, without any difficult, As usual without proofing this program NMM is scrapped ,. i have made several attempts to understand this vortex program. ( Retired electronic tech.here) I have become very boring because vortex has taken control of the games I like. This is one of my joys of life that has been reined. it is apparent that the majority of mods users and creators are disappointed with Vortex. It needs to be scrapped!! U want a better explanation just ask I can provide you with several.

Did you make an account just to add that comment?

NMM is not scrapped; you can still freely download it.

On the Nexusmods Vortex download page scroll down a bit. There is a very convenient link to download NMM.

For a retired engineer (as I am) you show no signs of critical thinking, and have no basis for saying anything about "majority".

No explanation needed, for some reason you can't figure out Vortex.

You at least read the built in Knowledge Base that has step by step guides on how to do the simplest things in Vortex right?

I'm also assuming you watched the built in Video Tutorials as well, and between the Knowledge base and Video tutorials you STILL just can't figure out Vortex.

it is apparent that the majority of mods users and creators are disappointed with Vortex

Care to give some numbers on that "Majority"?

Otherwise I'm going to treat that made-up 'statistic' for what it is, the old argument fallacy known as "Argument ad populum"

"EVERYBODY hates X", "The MAJORITY of people don't like X"

Why is it apparent?

Because of the TWO people in this thread that complained?

That certainly isn't a 'majority', especially in THIS thread.

I'm going to guess you also didn't bother to look at, or you missed my post with the big huge, multicolored, easy to see, screen capture in it, just a mere Five posts above yours, from back in NOVEMBER of 2018, that shows you how to download a new version of NMM.

Please do, I can't wait.
