I downloaded Vortex to my desktop and when I click to install , another window appears and asks me to choose which program I want to use to

open this file, from Acrobat reader to Windows Wordpad,

Am I missing something ?

Thanks

check the file extension of Vortex, it should be EXE, but I'm guessing your antivirus renamed the exe to something else

Right click on the Vortex on your desktop and pick RENAME, erase the ENTIRE name and type in VORTEX.EXE

Now it should run when you double click on it.

Hi,

Tks, it worked as intended.

But I deleted the whole download as it appears it went through the Administrators ( c:\users\administor\.......) and Vortex popped a window saying it does not need the administrator and does not continue, So I have to see how to remove the administrator from the fillepath between the Nexus site and the desktop when I download.

No, UAC is at the default setting : 'Notify me only when programs ......" ,I did not change anything in the UAC.

Don't know if this is normal of not that administrator be part of the file name.

Yesterday when I clicked on the install, it proceeded as normal but then a window appeared saying : The directory structure for download was changed so we need to move them. Presently the file location for Vortex is: c-program files-black tree gaming- vortex.

After that pop-up message another one appeared: Moving downloads- On the next screen , please select an empty directory where all your downloads form Vortex (for all games) will be placed. That is when I stopped yesterday.

Stupid me, just now while answering your message, I went to the empty directory and looked at the location name at the top and tried it, and I am in Vortex proper.

Now I can login or register with the Nexus site.

Thanks for taking the time to help, hopefully this will help somebody else that has a similar problem.

Thanks again
