RyougaLolakie Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 I launched vortex and I get the error that says invalid staging folder, which for what is says that you need to choose a seperate folder for the staging folder NOT from the mods folder in Skyrim SE folder. So, what happens is that if I choose a seperate folder outside of the Mods folder in Skyrim SE, do I have to redownload all the mods stuff again or is it something I'd missed. I'd apologized that I'm somewhat fairly new to the modding stuff, so bare with me on that. Since Skyrim has somewhat updated, I guess I had to clean the master files again which is no big deal for me and I updated SKSE64 and LOOT.
HadToRegister Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Right, according to your description, not only have people incorrectly been putting their Mod Staging Folder inside the Game DATA folder, but they're also incorrectly putting it inside the Mod Download Folder as well. What you should have is something like this (Change your paths accordingly) My mod staging FolderD:\Games\Mods\Skyrim SE My Vortex Downloads FolderD:\Games\Vortex Downloads\Skyrimse Your gameD:\Steam\Steamapps\common\SkyrimseNow I'm starting to understand why everybody is getting extremely weird errors when using Vortex.
sopmac45 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Here is my setup ( and I let Vortex to choose its default installation, except my Download Folder ) : - Games are installed : C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Fallout4 .. or .. Skyrim - Vortex application : C:\ProgramFiles\Black Tree Gaming LTD\Vortex - Mod Staging : C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex - My Download Folder : C:\Users\<username>\Documents\VORTEX DOWNLOADS ( name given to my folder ) … this is the only path I personally chose. All of the above, I let Steam and Vortex to choose its default installation path. Period.
Guest deleted34304850 Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 i was doing a bit of "data science"** today, looking at the recent posts in the vortex forums to detect commonalities.it seems with the last update to vortex a slew of issues are appearing because the staging folder is now being flagged up if it's set incorrectly.i was thinking that it might be a good idea to create some sort of template for helping people along where they can put their folder paths (if known) because right off the bat, that data can be used to detect several issues that can be resolved by simply setting the paths correctly.not entirely sure if that would be something beneficial, but for me, it's a no brainer. ** reading posts that contain errors and marking down some commonalities between them, but it's a buzzword, so I'm using it to sound all relevant and clever.

Thought I was reading a Terry Pratchett novel for a second.

All of the above, I let Steam and Vortex to choose its default installation path. Period. Alright, I decided that I make a new folder on my E:\Games\Vortex Mods\Skyrim SE, sorted and disabled/re-enabled the mods one by one and everything looks okay but now on my mods section I get the same mods with 7z or .rar which says never installed or uninstalled, is it alright to remove those? As of right now, My Games are installed on the E:\Games\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim Special Edition Download Folder: E:\Downloads\Nexus Mod Downloads\ Mod Staging: E:\Games\Vortex Mods\Skyrim SE Kinda feared that my mods will be perished or corrupted if I took the wrong step when trying to fix this..but loading the sort order on LOOT and everything seems okay...I just loaded on skyrim to see if my mods loaded and it seems like its loaded okay. Thanks for the help! :)

HadToRegister Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 SEVERE:OUI-10133:Invalid staging area. There are no top level components for IBM SP AIX available for installation in this staging area. This error is reported when OUI is unable to find products.xml file. Check response file for FROM_LOCATION parameter and see if it is correct and Oracle software owner has read permission on this fille. Is it animal, mineral or vegetable?
