@lennonn: Not helpful.

@del_boy: Huh?! The entire top of the site is taken up with hotfiles!

@vidguy: Again - Huh?! The default front page has Hotfiles (with pics), Latest files (with pics) and News (if you havent changed it). The difference is that OTHER people, who want something ELSE as their default news can have it. What's the problem?

@MasaVK: Also not helpful 'horrendous' comment. As for being 'perfectly fine' - the new version is more customisable for other people.

Personally I generally like it. The hotfiles section is much tighter now, though I'd like to see the spacing and/or sizing for the thumbnails tweaked so they take up the full width available.

Also there's something a bit off about the styling of the tab controls - the normal-state and current-state versions clash. (Edit: Just took a look at this in Firebug, and I actually think it looks better with no styling at all, beyond the colour difference for the active (current) tab...)

went to the preferences page, popped my mouse over the next to Default feed tab in homepage dropdown to see what it's for and it's the wrong info, it's the same as the dropdown below.

as far as the new stuff, I feel like switching to facebook's timeline was less upsetting :P to be honest i think the only thing that really makes me feel uncomfortable now is the individual news posts etc.. are not contained in any border or something more uniform, they are just split by a thin line. and the tabs at the top aren't even seperated from the top news item. i don't know why this bothers me so much but argh it just makes my skin itch looking at it.

Aside from that, nice work getting all the handy info in our faces from the go.
