UtopianDuck
A fresh install sounds like a good plan. Presumably by "fresh install" you mean deleting all of your original mod installations and then reinstalling the mods. There is a way to do this in Vortex which preserves your original archives so that you don't have to download them all over again. The "Remove" function in Vortex gives you the option of deleting only the mods in the Mod Staging Folder without deleting the archives in the Download Folder. Once you've deleted your mods (but not your archives), you've also deleted their hardlinks and presumably now have a clean game data folder. However, before reinstalling your mods, I recommend that you check the game data folder and delete anything that does not belong there. If you're worried about deleting crucial game files, remember that you can always go to Steam to verify the integrity of the game files and replace anything missing. Now that you're ready to reinstall your mods, I would recommend that you proceed slowly, installing one mod at a time and resolving issues as they occur. Make sure you've enabled auto-sort and auto-deploy. Install a few mods and then launch your game to see if everything is working. Rinse and repeat until you have all of mods installed and have a working game. In regard to LOOT, Vortex has fully integrated LOOT into its sorting function. You therefore don't need to run LOOT apart from Vortex. One big advantage of using Vortex-based LOOT sorting is that Vortex will respect whatever custom load order rules you create, whereas LOOT may not. Removing all of my Models and Textures + Visuals and Graphics mods allowed the rest to resume deploying normally. I must have made an error with one or more of them but I haven't figured out which it was or where yet. I'm assuming that I messed up a mod cycle and that the reason I kept getting the same messages about external changes was because it was never able to deploy the changes. Thank you for your graciousness and your help, Augusta and HadToRegister!

tcat5051
So I bought a Steam copy of , Elder Scrolls Skyrim SE with 3 packs , Dragonborn ,Dawnguard andHearthfire , the nexus mod manager checked and listed my game on the list but when I closed the page it said no game found , and I loaded around 45 mods in to vortex and it says they are installed and yes I did hit the deploy button and nothing , there in the vortex list and in the mods filebut not showing up in the game so I guess I will have to manually load them and this system isproblematic to say the least. the stream game loads fine and plays fine and don't have a cluewhat is going on here ! Ive done a clean install , Yet still nothing . I miss NMM. Worked everytime. This thread is over a year old... Start your own thread, rather than necroing an old thread that has nothing to do with your problem. Also...you could've scrolled just a little bit farther down the Vortex Download page, and downloaded NMM...so, I'm going to chalk your problem up to being that you're bad at following instructions.
