You need to uninstall Sounds of Skyrim

Wow. What a mess guys. Now it seems that even though Cliffworms said to uninstall these (especially Civilizations) that uninstalling makes your saves bloat even more. Crazy. :wallbash:

So I guess I am going to try a save from before I installed Civilizations and go from there. It seems that Dungeons and Wilds are supposed to be ok but I'm not taking any chances at this point.

Here's a link about this that everyone should check out. Still a lot of confusion going on with this one. You should start here and read everything from here on.

Thanks for the link Staind716. Consensus seems to be it's mainly the Civilization version. Interesting that the one guy who, like me, had Wilds and Dungeons but not Civilization and couldn't find any of the W/D scripts that Cliffworm mentions. Can anyone else who has just Wilds & Dungeons (and not Civilization) actually find those scripts in their game?

i.e.

Dungeons:

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\SoSDungeonsConfigScript.pex

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\Source\SoSDungeonsConfigScript.psc

Wilds:

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\SoSWildsConfigScript.pex

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\Source\SoSWildsConfigScript.psc

Kinda wild with the problems peeps seem to be having with bloat after uninstalling. I think I might have dodged a bullet by not installing Civilization (I was thinking about it, like just 2 days ago). I think at this point I'm going to hang tough and not uninstall either of Wilds or Dungeons. If @#&! happens later, well, it wouldn't be the end of the world for me to start a new game.

No problem. Yeah, it's pretty crazy how this thing is working out. As much as I love these mods I really wish I wouldn't have installed them to begin with. The Dungeons and Wilds are supposed to be ok and I used them for a very long time with no trouble so I may reinstall those two. It's pretty late here where I'm at and had a crazy busy day so I'm about to hit the bed. But I will reinstall and take a look through my folders tomorrow and see if I can find those. Maybe someone else will have a chance to do it before I do and can offer some info.

@kevkiev, hi, i have SOS the Dungeons v1.1 and the Wilds v1.01 manually installed

which did NOT include those PEX/PSC script files Cliffworms refers to, so i

do not see these either:

Dungeons:

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\SoSDungeonsConfigScript.pex

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\Source\SoSDungeonsConfigScript.psc

Wilds:

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\SoSWildsConfigScript.pex

Skyrim\Data\Scripts\Source\SoSWildsConfigScript.psc

Never installed SOS Civilization.

SOS mods only needed the ESP's and a bunch of loose WAV file subdirectories placed in \Skyrim\Data\sound\fx\SoundsOfSkyrim.

Not getting savegame bloat issues from SOS sound mods, running Skyrim locked down with earlier patch v1.4.27.0.4 lol.

If it matters, I'm also running a few other sound mods:

Quieter World by senorblackbean - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12621

Sounds of Nature - Water by John Kelly

Sounds of Nature - Fire by John Kelly

Sunnies Archmages Quarters Audio Enhancement by Sunnie - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4731

Elemental Fury - Sound BUG - Solution by 1GurU9 - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/456

Replacement draw sword sound by MasterVampire - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/301

Silent healing spells equipped by Moeder - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/691

I have been using Sos Dungeons and Sos Wilds, the earlier versions and never noticed anything unusual about the save games file sizes. The only mod that I ran into trouble with in that regard was RTS for Skyrim so far. For those folks asking about savegame bloat in my experience a new game will start out at around 3mb and get larger as you progress with your gamesaves. My last game was just hitting 14mb with a level 61 character when it got to be unplayable with exterior cell stutter for what reasons I still dont know, may have had nothing to do with savegame file size. After a fresh install and a new game with fewer mods installed the game runs fine with the first few saves being in the low 3mb and now at level 30 character they are in the mid 6mb range which seems about normal.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I continue to add mods as I go though a little more cautiously this time.

This is indeed sad news, but good to know! I'm using some older versions of SoS, but only dungeons and wilds I think. My current 64h lvl32 character save-files are around 8.4mb, which seems to be just fine. I dont seem to have any of the mentioned script-files either.

Hi have SOS version 1.0.2, only the Wilds. I've been using it forever, no problem. I did start getting crashes when I updated SkyMo to version 7 from version 4, but not before. Just saying because someone else mentioned they thought the Wilds was causing problems when used with SkyMo. The latest SkyMo was double the file size of my version 4, with a lot more monsters/events, so maybe there were conflicts with SOS? I never thought so, I thought it was just too much memory load for my poor computer. Reverting to the older version was fine, again.

I'm really sorry to here there are problems with this. I love SOS!
