dizietemblesssma
Hello to anyone who has imported mods from NMM, I did this for Fallout4 and it went well for me. Did this a few months ago so I totally missed what I just found out by accident: some of the mods, while installed, enabled etc. do not have the option 'open on mexus mods' in the right hand clickable menu. This made me wonder if perhaps I hadn't missed out on some updates, and manually searching on Nexus for each mod I did find a mod that had updates from the version that was imported. Removing and downloading through the Nexus mod manager download button shows the 'open on mexus mods' option and presumably will enable updates to be shoen for this mod. So I am now going through all my mods manually and all those without the 'open on mexus mods' option I am reinstalling from the Nexus site. I put this out there just for others to be aware. I have tried locating the file the downloads folder - which I assumed was copied by the import process, and choosing 'quey info' but the result on one mod looks like this: As you can see the version number is missing and I presume this prevents vortex from discovering any updates. (This particular mod doesn't actually have updates but I think the principle holds!) I am not asking for support on this, but others may come to this forum with questions about vortex and this may be a useful thing to find out if previoulsy unknown. HadToRegister
Instead of downloading and reinstalling all of your mods again, just Double click on the mod in the MODS Tab, A window opens on the right hand side, allowing you to automatically enter the info from the website. The Mod Info Window will initially look like this 1. If the SOURCE is empty, pick Nexus Mods from the Drop-Down (Shown below)2. "Nexus Mod ID" box will now have the option of "GUESS" in it, Pick GUESS, The ID should automatically be entered from the Website, and the rest of the info will fill in. If you ever want to visit the Mod Page, just click on the "Visit on Nexus Mods.com" link below the Nexus Mod ID box.
dizietemblesssma
Hah! I just finished downloading the relevant mods, then read your reply! I noticed that some of the mods had different display names ater reinstalling, I think the original names (where no option to visit the nexus page was available) were b'ased on the file name which is not necessarily the name of the mod. An example is the mod for FO3 that vortex named 'Darker Rock LOD Textures', but after redownloading is named 'C93 - Distant LOD Rock Fix for NMCs Texture Pack'. BigBizkit
Vortex cannot always import all mod meta data correctly, because NMM does not store it correctly. Assigning a source and letting Vortex guess the mod id, however, usually does work. Sometimes, the mod id Vortex guesses will be wrong, causing the name etc. for the mod to be wrong. You can address this by changing the mod id manually. Go to the mod page > in the URL it will have a number game/mods/12345 12345 in the example above is the mod id. Timerider42
*snip*The mods I have that were imported already have the source as Nexus Mods, as well as the correct IDs, but the rest of the info does not fill in. Author, description, and category are all blank. Also, none of the imported mods show up in the downloads folder, only the staging folder.
rmm200
I personally consider Import from NMM problematic. NMM does not provide some of the required information.I just dropped all my archive files (160 mods or so) in the Vortex import area, which worked out well.It did mean I had to manually select which mods to enable, but I had the NMM display to refer to.Biggest problem I have seen with NMM is people not completely removing all NMM mods from their game directory before their Vortex install. They do not coexist well together.
