incorrectly saying mode are redundant.

Just got the "Major Update" to vortex. Now I keep getting a message that some mods are reduntant. This message is totally wrong.

Most are optional files for their parent mod. One is just a bat file with it's own keybind for taking screenshots.

The optional files are supposed to be doing the overwriting, Toxic Raider was broke but I was able to fix by manually re-solving the conflict.

Rogue Prototype seems to still be working ok.

The Nuka World one is optional file for True storms. I'd have to go there and see if I can change the weather. I'll have to find an old save to do it.

And I don't know what would over write the optional bodyslide files for Heather.

Check your load order rules. Click the green order mark next to each. Take "A Rogue Prototype" for example.

It sounds like these are loading before the files they are supposed to overwrite.

If you really have a bug, make sure you report it through the Vortex feedback facility.

The message is not saying that the mods in question are redundant/unneeded in general, the message is saying that the way you have set up your mod install order (mod rules) has caused some mods to be completely overridden by others.

In other words: the mods identified as redundant in your setup are currently not doing anything for you other than slowing down deployment, because all of their files are being overridden by mods that load after them. You might as well disable them.

That is probably not what you wanted though, so I assume it is down to mod rules you have set up.

OK, I'm going back through all this file by file, folder by folder (inside and outside of Vortex).

Vortex is partially wrong and I was partially wrong.

Rogue Prototype, good call.

The no perks version was completely overwriting the perks version. In the older version 1.1 "no perks" only modified the "perks" version and both were needed. I didn't notice they had been changed to stand alone in V1.2.

True Storms Nuka World Addon

There was some install issues. There was 2 differently named folders for the same mod but one is empty.

I uninstalled/deleted archive the mod with Vortex and manually removed the extra folder. Then I reinstalled the mod with Vortex and it looks ok now.

The last two are mistakes by vortex.

LC's Screenshot Assistant is neither empty or overwritten by anything. It's simply a bat (.txt) file and a hotkey (.ini) file.

LlamaCompanionHeather_Bodyslide Files is neither empty or overwritten by anything but, it only places files in Tools\BodySlide so it seems Vortex either mistakenly believes it's being overwritten by the main mods files located in the materials, meshes, textures folders under the Data folder or that it contains no files because they aren't were it expects them to be.

For me it literally says this with all mods even though i just did a fresh install and all.

Curse this totally broken mod loader. why cant they just update nmm

So just download the updated NMM here. Download NMM

The reason Vortex is telling you you have redundant mods, is because you have mods that are completely overwriting other mods, so that the mod isn't even needed, it's trying to help you fix your broken load order, but I guess you prefer not knowing your load order is broken

I cannot replicate this with the mods you are highlighting.

Could you show me a screenshot of your mod list in Vortex as well as a screenshot of your mod rules (Mods > Manage Rules) ?

Alternatively, @Milou151 @MadeUpName92, can you give us your Vortex.log files?

1. Windows key + R

2. Type in %appdata% and hit enter

3. go to the folder "Vortex"

4. look for Vortex.txt (that should be your most recent log)

I have after the update the same Problems my Loot don't work and Vortex say me that i have a lot of redundant Mods that i can disable but in the List of what Mods he mean i see near all Translation for Mods or there Masters if i disable them the entire Mods stop to Work.First i load always the Original Mod and then the Translation for it as the maker say that the original is always needed. But now Vortex say me i dont need them. And that what is more confusing why near all Translation? They load after the main Mod so they have to overwrite something and not get overwrite.

If you click DISMISS on the message, does the message pop up again when you load Vortex back up?

I think there should be a fix for certain "Redundant Mods", being Translation mods.

If that's what you're using, it's OK to ignore the Redundant Message, it's just telling you that one mod is completely overwritten by another mod.

It's handy for instances like I had, where a mod author released 3 hotfixes that all contained the same ESP, and I had Vortex install them all, and Vortex let me know I could remove the other two ESPs>

For something like that the Redundant warning is useful.
