Tutorials WITHOUT "youtoob"

In the Creation Kit in the AMMO listing there is a Dummy Arrow. You place that and edit it. Then under the Leveled Item tab of the reference form you select the leveled list that you want this Dummy Arrow to become.

At least that is what I surmise should be done based on examining the forms and stuff.

In response to one of Allannea's posts asking for a tutorial on quest creation, I decided to create a tutorial for what she was asking for. As far as I know, nobody answered with an in-depth one. I started out writing a quick tutorial on my blog for it, before realizing it was a bit more complicated than I thought it was. I tried to be as detailed as possible, which resulted in a three part, incredibly detailed tutorial on how to create a basic quest. So here it is:

Part 1: Skyrim CK: Making A Basic Quest I

Part 2: Skyrim CK: Making A Basic Quest II

Part 3: Skyrim CK: Making A Basic Quest III

And the link to my blog site, since I have some other tutorials there:

Matthiaswagg's Skyrim Blog

If there are any mistakes in any of the tutorials, feel free to tell me. It would be very helpful.

Edit: This will be completely redone soon.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial covering modifying a complex object such as a wagon? The carts at the beginning are making the engineer side of me twitch, and I want to see whether I can learn to fix them.

It needs to cover what (hopefully free) tools are needed, or at least point me to further tutorials covering the information.

I wrote one for how to make worldspaces using heightmaps: Link

I wrote this because the documentation for TESAnnwyn was very confusing and missing a some info, so I thought this one might be more user-friendly. I didn't go into detail about TESAnnwyn settings, this is just a basic step-by-step. I hope someone finds this helpful.

Thank you so much for this thread. I have speakers that sometimes don't work and I don't like videos much anyway so this is really perfect for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have a slight issue. I want to make a mod that requires more skills i think with the creation kit than i have at the moment. Bear with me for a sec.

I want to create a sort of underground bunker, the entrance to which is under a lake. I want to have something "rise out of" said lake to reveal the entrance, triggered when an orb or something floating above the lake is hit with some sort of spell (i'm working on the specifics).

the problem here is this: i can't think of anything in the creation kit that moves UP, and stays up (there's traps but they don't stay), and i'm not sure how i could get something to work for my purposes - that is, be linked to an object that needs to be hit in order to "open" it. any help with this would be appreciated (if i was too vague, please let me know).

I suggest you take a look at the rising pillars in Ustengrav, you know the place where you fetch the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. Towards the end, there are six pillars rising from the water. It is most likely scripted.
