AugustaCalidia
@Rattledagger I can confirm your observation. I'm seeing the same thing on my Skyrim SE mods page as well as on the mod pages of other games managed by Vortex. I download manually and then drag the archives to the Vortex drop box. SpectreBugg
Let me see if my step by step will help. I'm still seeing this problem and, as far as i can tell, I'm doing things exactly how they should be done. 1. Manually downloaded this mod to my computer. https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/9962. Unpacked the mod(It's a modular mod with multiple "options")3. repacked the .pak files i wanted to use via basic archive with winrar. 4. Went into vortex, selected "install from file" at the top. selected the archived .pak files I made in step 3. 5. Once they are added to the list in vortex, I select "install" are the right hand side for each one. 6. Launch the game, mods seem to work just fine. It's only after i've closed the game and vortex, and then reopened cortex that i get these messages. As i type this, and think about how the mods say .rar at the end, I wonder if my manual archiving of the files is somehow causing this. Still though, I'm adding the mods via vortex. I have not manually moved any mod files to the games folder, or any of the vortex folders myself.

Try it and tell me if it works
AugustaCalidia
@HadToRegister Pack them with 7zip, I believe Vortex has a problem with WinRar. It's always a safe bet to use 7zip. However, I have many .rar archives in my various Vortex game download folders and have never had a problem extracting the archives and installing the mods. Yes, mine is full of different types as well, however I have rar, zip, 7z all associated with 7zip.Maybe it's a problem with Winrar or would someone like to correct me on that? Try it and tell me if it works Gave this a try. I'm getting a slightly different result, but the same problem overall. I still get them same error when i reopen vortex (files on disk have changed), and i select apply changes as that's the only option. However, now the mod files disappear entirely from the mods list in vortex (before they were simply showing up as uninstalled). in addition to this, the files are still in the mod staging folder and in the games mod folder, despite not showing up on the mod list at all in vortex. I'm tempted to uninstall all of it, including vortex, and start from scratch just to see if that helps. I appreciate all of the suggestions and help though. To be honest, no mans sky is simple to mod and im not opposed to simply not using vortex to do it. The reason I started this to begin with was that i've always used mod organizer, and thought i'd give vortex a go to see if it was any good. Perhaps ill have better luck with a different game. I'm going to give the "from scratch" a go, and see what happens. I'll continue to check back here and share any progress, but if this doesnt work, i'll probably just go without a manager for NMS and give vortex a go on some other game. That's a solution that has worked for a lot of people, just reinstalling Vortex, because something gets skipped over or glitched during installation, could be Windows Defender, or another antivirus blocking some files during installation, or just some files just end up getting skipped.
