This directory doesn't appear to contain the game. Expected to find these files: bin/x64/witcher3.exe

Ok, had the same problem with other games, where I had to rename the game exe files to match the "Expected" names vortex want`s/

But I can`t rename exe file t omatch it this time, because "/" are not allowed in the file name...

You're DEFINITELY doing something wrong if you've been renaming your game EXEs in order to have Vortex find them.

out of interest, how many times have you renamed a file? it seems, from what you've written this isn't the first time you've done this?

then you're doing something very wrong because there is no need whatsoever to rename any exe file in order for vortex to find your game.

what is the full path for your witcher3 exe file, and what do you have for the search paths in vortex set up?

in my setup, for example, under the games tab, i have the following defined as search paths:

C:\

D:\

this means that when i install a new game, and fire up vortex to search for it, it's going to search all the directories under C:\ and D:\.

Search path is selected, precise folder with games

C:\GamesFast

When i choose Witcher 3 from the supported games, I choose this folder

C:\GamesFast\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - GOTY\bin\x64

This message appears

This directory doesn't appear to contain the game. Expected to find these files: bin/x64/witcher3.exe

Why is it looking for a filename which is impossible?

Had same problem for kenshi, had to rename exe file

but can`t rename using "/", so no vortex support for me I guess

What are you doing?

You do not need to rename your exe files.

You need to explain more in detail WHY you are renaming the exes, because this is making absolutely no sense.

Are these Steam games?

I think you should be setting the game folder to C:\GamesFast\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - GOTY' not C:\GamesFast\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - GOTY\bin\x64'. Vortex is appending bin/x64/witcher3.exe' to the folder name, you do not need too.
