Skyui and A Matter of Time plugins wont stay enabled.

So... if I close down Vortex, I can activate the Skyui plugin through the Vanilla luancher Data Options menu. And so long as Vortex stays closed, the plugin stays active. It is Vortex that is choosing to disable it.

Edit: OK then. Since I have done the things I just spoke of in this particular comment, Vortex is NOW leaving the plugin for SkyUI enabled. Ugh.

Well at least that is fixed. I never had to do any of these things previously... BEFORE VOrtex... jus sayin. And now I need to follow those steps each time I want to install a mod that is dependent on SKSE. Which is quite a lot of them.

How did SkyUI make it's way into your Skyrim setup? Did you import it to Vortex from NMM? Or did you download and install it with Vortex?

I imported from Nexus through Vortex, using the mod manager download.

I have added a few more mods, made sure their dependencies were all covered, and Vortex simply will not keep any of their plugins enabled, whether they require SKSE or no. This is becoming pretty frustrating.

At Hadtoregister: That works.. thanks. Well, I mean it works in allowing me to open Skyrim through VOrtex using the SKSE launcher. THe remaining problems do not work, alas.

Are you running Vortex as an admin?

If so, don't

Also are you using Windows Defender?

Do you have UAC turned on?

If not, turn it on.

Is the Plugins.txt set to "Read Only"?

You might have to purge and redeploy.

Are the mods that keep turning off ones left over from NMM?

Essentially all this became an issue because I was having issues with dropping FPS, making it impossible to fight outdoors. I had tried everything that was suggested to fix it. I finally chose the nuclear option. I uninstalled all mods via NMM, I then uninstalled Skyrim, deleted the entirety of the skyrim folder, reinstalled it, and was on the step where I was going to carefully reinstall my mods, making sure to do them in the proper order, and to ditch the mods that were fun, but not needed for my game, including many that dealt with higher resolution textures, added greenery, etc. However it was here that NMM stopped working for me.

So in essence, no, I have not imported anything from NMM. I have my NMM open because it lists all the mods I had, but they were all disabled and uninstalled, and all their data gone.

Plugins.txt is not set to read only. I havent the foggiest as to how to turn on UAC :)

Exit NMM altogether. It may be that NMM and Vortex are both trying to read one and the same plugins.txt.

I'll let HTR handle the UAC question.
