ok i see, you need to close steam, then add -console to it, like https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=873543244

Then enter the command-
download_depot 489830 489833 6411417958676685207
Find it, backup the current 1.5.80 executable, then just replace it. It's actually a lot easier than I thought.
This is my punishment for going online and trying to play the new valve dota underloards battlepass minigame.

can anybody mirror the skyrimse.exe 1.5.73 version?

Follow the instructions - they work just fine! Just pay attention to YOUR directories, not the one listed here. ;)

I mucked around before I found this thread, even started another thread on the mods page. I found that I could roll back the skyrim version, as well as SKSE to get it to hobble along. I wish I had just waited for a fix than to undo all my "fixing" later, lol. I do agree that an option to upgrade in steam should be a bit variable, rather than set to 1 (what is that, nullspace? monopole?), but I do really enjoy the game so much that a suggestion is just a drop into the bath. I'd guess it's more of a steam policy than a Bethesda edict.

ugh! thank got i got my SSE exe backed up nowadays, after a few times of having it blindside me

Edit, last time this happened, SKSE was updated ASAP! Hopefully now too! Those guys rule! And are much appreciated as is Arthmoor and USSEP! He's qwik too! :D

I've said this before & I'll say it again - LOCK STEAM DOWN IN OFFLINE MODE. This is the only sure way to keep Bethesda's greedy paws off your game. Steam removed the "Never keep this game up to date" option several years ago via a Steam Client update. I'm still on Skyrim SE runtime 1.5.62 since .NET Script Framework has yet to be updated for the newer Skyrim SE runtimes. Until .NET Script Framework is updated to the new runtime, I'll be sticking with Skyrim SE runtime 1.5.62 & Steam will remain in Offline Mode. Even after a system reboot due to a video driver update/Windows updates, Steam always gives me the option to remain in Offline Mode as long as I select "Start in Offline Mode" after a system reboot. Seriously, start setting one's Steam in Offline Mode & be done with it. Doing so will prevent those pesky Bethesda stealth updates from breaking your game.
