Well, if it was like real life where getting stabbed is likely to make you really dead and there are no do-overs in the way of loading a previous save, I'd probably just hide out in a house in Solitude drinking ale and eating sweet rolls.

I would stay out of the Civil War, but trained on Warrior class to defend myself, living on Solitude and passing my time on The Winking Skeever Inn, doing what GnatGoSplat said, and having a good life working as Housecarl of the Jarl. :tongue:

I'd stay out of the war, but I'd be holed up in a nice stone house in Markarth somewhere practicing magic. (Too dang cold to actually live in Winterhold!)

Realistically, I'd think that practicing combat(one hand, two hand, shield) would be the most dangerous as your always up close and have a bigger chance of being hit. Practicing magic can keep you at a safe distance while you hail down firebolts at your enemies and at the same time your dremora lords take all of the damage. Being a sneaky character is also a little more realistic imo, you don't have to get hit as much if your actually good at being sneaky, shooting arrows and such without being noticed. Or you could just be a milk-drinker drinking your life away in an inn.

Would most likely work with metal in cozy Falkreath, and grab a sword for "the cause" whenever the time comes. Sounds like me :P

Personally, I am fascinated by magic. Probably because it's not real at all, and the idea of being able to use it would be super human. Skyrim being a dangerous place, it's not surprising that most people would stay out of the war. Who really wants to die? It seems like one of the safest places in Tamriel is the college in Winterhold. It might be freezing outside, but the interior seems cozy enough to live comfortably. So I would probably live at the college and become master mage.
