I'm currently watching the English dub version of Gundam Seed Destiny. Gundam Wing is my favourite anime of all time and what got me into mecha; but these latest Gundams seem to have taken a real turn for the worse and have been really dumbed down for an early teen audience in my books. I found Wing to be a lot darker and it tackled modern day passivist ideals in a much more subtle way.

 

If I watch another mecha series where the "hero" is a passivist emo-kid who refuses to fight (Gundam Seed, Rahxephon, Evangelion, etc.) I think I'll kill someone! Bring back Heero-Yuy!

Ahh, that reminds me, Black Lagoon.(Both as Anime & Manga, you might wanna try the anime Dark0ne, Black Lagoon & Black Lagoon;The Second Barrage) It has rather dark themes and hidden views on the darker side of life, altho most of the story is told from within the gray area. At least I personally found it interesting.

it relates to DMC 3 and the anime relates to the ritual in DMC 2 that turns someone into argosax
