Hi there sorry about the place to post this since its not related to Skyrim SE but to the site Mod Manager in active duty !

I like it ...

But ....God damn the procedure to install a texture guys ...I mean God Damn the all conflict with this conflict with that ..Its boring and completely useless...

When I install a textures either I remove an old one or overwrite above other bigger texture mods cause the new one I am installing haves something that either I prefer or its better quality...

I mean its a textures guys ...A TEXTURE God damn it ...Why do I have to be 20 minutes time and time again watching a new window that pops out with a different possible conflict ...its a texture that I want to use so I will install it on top of the ones I have to improve some kind of graphic quality...

Jesus for God sake ...Installing a lamp mod today it took me 15 minutes of new warning windows just cause it was overwriting graphics...I understand that this happens with Mods that have scripts , or introduce new stuff to the game but this for God sake ...

I am sorry about the words or way to say it guys but After some time using this it is starting to get on my nerves so many windows and warnings... I mean why not only one window with the warning of what other textures it is overwriting ...instead of one warning run FNIS to find out I can not cause there is another warning and fix that one to run FNIS and again another Darn warning about another Texture ...Jesus !

Thanks and this are my 2 cents on this annoyance ..

Hi JCThunder,

First of all: I'm moving the thread over to Vortex Discussions as that is the more appropriate place.

When you install a texture mod that is conflicting with another already installed mod, Vortex will notify you of a file conflict - as it should. You then resolve that conflict by simply deciding which mod should load last and thus win the conflict.

While it might be obvious to you that you want the last installed mod to override your currently installed ones entirely, that's not always necessarily the case. For example: you might be installing another texture mod with some textures you want, and some you don't.

With other mod managers, you would get an override prompt, and even on a manual installation you would be asked by the OS whether you want to overwrite the files.

Lastly, Vortex will not inform you of possible conflicts, only actual conflicts - which require to be addressed one way or another.

Yeah got it ...

But if you read what I have wrote more carefully you'll see that I am not against the warning of conflicts or overwriting textures but the many warning on the same install every each time you try to run what ever program after the install , Fnis , Boss , Tesedit what ever ... So its a warning window after a warning window and another warning window until the darn thing finally gets that I want to overwrite the graphics I have installed ...

Its doing the same thing over and over again when it could be done in a single warning or alert window ..

Any way ... Its boring and annoying no matter what color of painting you add to the all thing...

The reason you're getting the warning messages again and again is probably because you're ignoring them again and again instead of resolving the conflict once.

If you simply resolve the conflict once, which is a matter of seconds in all but the most extreme cases you are done and the conflict warning goes away.

That being said, you shouldn't be using BOSS (nor it's successor LOOT as it's built into Vortex).

Other than that, I am afraid, you would need to provide us with a concrete example and sequence of a) what you are doing and b) the sequence of warning messages you are getting for us to be able to give a more thorough answer.

LOL...

Do not know what you are trying to say or calling me but for sure that Assumption that I am ignoring stuff that Mod manager says or warns me its completely out of a wrong idea...

As for Loot or any other load order program Sorry to say but Loot provides a lot more information then the load order that Vortex brings in its core ...Starting from informing you of dirty mods to a lot more that I and most of us find useful..

As for the example I can give you a good one that haves just 15 minutes life time...

I have downloaded and installed this one today 15 minutes ago...

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/24324

Since I have SMIM and STAC as the mod author infos in his mod page I knew that I would be overwriting this 2 that I had installed but since it is a Textures mod I didn't care about it cause its a improvement for me in those textures...

Then after install you know already what happened , the warning and windows one at the time...And there it is where I find it annoying and boring since the way I see it it can provide the warning in a single time window and not one after another ...But I just stated what I wanted ...

If you guys want to roll the dice on this be my guest , I am a user and decide to use The site program , and according this I am giving feedback on a situation that I find annoying for the user or site member that decides to use your Mod Manager....It is simple and more direct then this I can not be...

Some times it seems that no one its allowed here to come and simply post a bug or problem cause first it comes the try to discredit the post and then making one look like an ignorant and unskilled to use this Program or what ever...

Don't take me wrong ...but I am with you guys for the Mods and to the Mods only, I have no interest in big powwows about anything apart of this forums that I used very few times ...I am not a Ignorant , I learn how to use any new program that I install in my PC and mostly I post issues when I see something can be improved....

See ya all and hope you do understand that this way either people do not help you guys with the program or simply will not care about it...It is your choice ..

And it is mine to post here again or not...in this moment it seems useless...

Thanks have a good day..

As I said, LOOT is built into Vortex, so it will provide the same information down to plugins that require cleaning (according to LOOT):
NOx9nZM.jpg
As for warnings/error messages:
I followed the steps outlined by you installing SMIM, STAC, and the other mod. I assume it depends on your mod installer options picked on STAC, but I only got one file conflict which I resolved in a matter of seconds by choosing to load it after SMIM.
Btw.: If you click on the "Manage Rules" button in the toolbar while viewing your mods, it will give you an overview of all of your conflicts and how you have resolved them at the time.
It's perfectly valid for you to provide feedback on your user experience, but for us to be able to understand it we needed to actually know what you were referring to and recreate it. Only then can we actually evaluate it.

Actually, it's far easier, and much quicker than installing textures with NMM

With NMM if you want to install textures in the proper order, you MUST install, and PHYSICALLY OVERWRITE the textures with another mod, which means if you installed those mods in the wrong order, you are forced to uninstall BOTH mods, and install them all over again.

With Vortex, you can install two textures mods in any order, then when Vortex tells you there's a conflict, you click SHOW, then MORE, and you're brought to a screen showing the two conflicting mods.

Then (according tot he mod description page), you either tell Mod A to LOAD BEFORE Mod B, or Mod A to LOAD BEFORE Mod B.

If you make the wrong choice, it's just a matter of switching LOAD BEFORE for Load AFTER.

Then Vortex will automatically restore the overwritten files, and overwrite the proper ones instead, without you having to uninstall and reinstall the mods.

I suggest you read up about it in the knowledge base to get an understanding how much more convenient, and easy it actually is.
