I'm interested in buying the game (probably not right away as I'm waiting for it to become a bit more moddable), but I've heard many people can't use it due to the security features. Can anyone comment on or confirm this? I've heard that Securom will not allow the game to be played if a person has dvd burning software or certain versions of Windows - is that true? Finally, I do not connect my modding computer to the internet, ever - I don't feel what I do with it is the business of large corporations. Can the game be played without an internet connection? I am NOT a pirate, or I would just download the game illegally rather than worrying about all the issues inherent in buying legit. I just want to know if this is going to be a waste of my money the way Bioshock was. Thank you in advance to those willing to share their experiences. So it's a once off, run from the CD jobbie as far as I can tell. From what I can tell this version of Sucurom seems to check for the disc each time the Launcher is used. The problem appears to be that the version on-disc has a hard time differentiating between a Virtual drive & a Physical DVD drive with a legit disc so it errs on the side of caution. there is already a patch for it on the Beth forums at http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=892624 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

rpsnow Posted November 6, 2008 Share Posted November 6, 2008 I am having serious grief with that damn securom protection, I get the emu error when trying run the game, to make matters worse the DL on securom for UK version of the game patch is the only one that seems to be broken. :( Edit: working UK patch DL link now on securom site, obtained it & now playing F3 quite happily, almost too happily. ;) Rich Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
