Plugin list empty at startup

Hi. So far, I've had great success with Vortex, it's a great program, except for one minor issue. Every time I start Vortex up to play Fallout 4, the plugin section is empty. All my mods are there and enabled in the mods section, but no plugins at all, not even the game or DLC. Sometimes I have to wait 20 minutes and just play around disabling and re-enabling mods in the mods section to get it to finally, I don't know, wake up, and populate my plugin list. Then I have to enable all my mods (only about 20 or so) and sort them again. Then everything is fine, the mods work, life is grand, but it's just annoying to have to do this everyday. I'm on Windows 8.1. Is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks for your time and thanks for making this handy tool!

Have you tried not toggling mods all the time and just wait?

Vortex has to parse the plugins and sort with loot to get all the information it's displaying in the list. Before it can sort with loot it has to update the loot masterlist via the internet.

Admittedly 20 minutes is ridiculously long, usually it should be done in a few seconds but maybe either there is something up with the network connection when fetching the masterlist update or there is a plugin that stumbles the parser. But disabling and enabling mods which constantly changes the data Vortex is trying to fetch isn't exactly helping speed up the process. Maybe you could let it run and then when the list has been updated, send in a feedback with the log file attached.

I have. That's usually what I do, until I get impatient and then start messing with them, and then they appear, although that could of course be coincidence.

Not being a computer person, I didn't think to look for logs, but looking now, I see something. It's not an error (well, there IS an error apparently every time I close the game, but that's a separate issue I'd guess, something to do with Steam). Everything is happening within seconds, then there's the big wait, and then it says it failed to read (Vortex) theme directory, as no such file exists, and then lists where it searched on my hard drive (I checked, I don't even have a Themes folder). Then it says "from embedded page Uncaught SyntaxError: Failed to execute 'querySelector' on 'Document': The provided selector is empty" Is says this several times over several minutes, and then it deploys the mods in seconds and we're good to go. Oddly, I only see a few days where this happened, even though I have to wait every day. I do see the bit where it says it's checking for updates and that is only taking about 3 seconds. I do notice that while I'm waiting for the plug-ins to sort, the orange bar near the top (the one you click to sort, manage rules, etc) is gone. Sometimes even after the plug-ins populate, that bar is still gone for a while.

Next time you start Vortex, look at the left hand column where the

The spinning icon means that Vortex is working on filling your plugin list.

Perhaps you don't have a lot of space on your HD and it's making Vortex take a long time
