Too much time and too much effort for no tangible figures that can be put on to an accountant’s spreadsheet.

bull crap

If not for the Nexus and modding capability of Oblivion, any accountant or person with half a brain cell can tell you Skyrim wouldn't have net the sales figures they did. Come on

Thats just it. We are talking about people who don't have half a brain cell and even if they did it wouldn't matter because the can't see around all the dollar sings glued to their eyeballs.

developers make games because publishers give them money. developers themselves aren't made of money.

bottom line is this is a game many fans want but a game no publisher would put money down for. if they even pitch the idea of a isometric, party-based computer RPG to a big publisher they would get laughed at.

Isometric? Like on PS2? In 2013? RidDICulous! OutRAGEous! Totally gamepad driven and diablo fanbased [via say goodbye to Alpha Protocol thang]. This sucks, that's what I mean... I expected more like TES VI or something. The future of all modern RPG genre is in serious danger with those guys!

God, I know... it's just too bad you have no choice but to buy things you don't want, right?

It won't be released for PS2 or any other consoles. It will only get a Windows, Mac and Linux release. So it will be a 100% PC RPG. Without those interfaces that are suitable for consoles but are bad for PCs. Like in Skyrim.

I think this is a revival of the classic, REAL RPG experience. I've always believed that the isometric RPG era (P:T is my favorite game, also BG, ID, ToEE etc) was the golden age of gaming industry. Rock on, Obsidian!

I assume you consider Skyrim to be the best RPG of all time?

If so, I'm sorry to tell you that you have no say whatsoever in this discussion.

You think isometric games were invented on consoles? Or that they are not still (very) popular? You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Period.
