Literally anything I try and do vortex says "elevate" and I have to accept it to run as admin and it's driving me insane why can't I just allow vortex admin privileges 24/7

I don't know what game you're managing with Vortex, but if you're using Symlinks, you have to elevate in order to enable and deploy mods.

If you're using Hardlinks, then you need to set Steam, and your games to NOT run as admin

Also, be sure to NOT run Vortex as an admin

You could run Vortex as admin, I would just seriously advice against that for security reasons.

You could update your windows. Current windows 10 in default settings allows creating symlinks without admin rights

You could ignore the "Deployment requires elevation" notification until you're done modding. It's sufficient to deploy right before starting the game.

You could move your staging folder (settings->mods) to be on the same drive where the game is and then, on the same settings screen, change the deployment method to hardlink deployment.
