Rabbit1251
It also has some pretty cool features like-You can give kids wooden practice swords, and if you have made the practice dummy in the cellar part of your house they go down there and train with it.-You can give all female adopted children dolls, and they play with their dolls, and you can actually see them take it out and play with them.-Kids also gain several new animations of them playing, and laying on their stomach with their feet in the air.-Your kids can also find animals and ask you if they can keep it as a pet, the known pets are foxes, frostbite spiders, mudcrabs, rabbits, and skeevers So far that's the only thing that I've heard that really interests me. It might even be worth the 5 bucks, but only when they chase all of the bugs out of it. Rabbit
StayFrosty05
I have two small un-invasive mods I use....'Be a Milk Drinker' (provides milk, water and a variety of Juices) ....and 'Realistic Wildlife Loot' (makes for a well fed Dovahkin... ...)....they provide for a perfect menu addition ....And he has a Fox companion already (BFF Animal Companions)....Without feeling the pressure to adopt some kid....I'm a soft touch and have no wish to make that available in my game at all. Hearthfire sounds like it can give those who are interested something....but it is certainly a very narrow market DLC and people are either going to really want a play house and family addition or have zero interest in the whole concept....this DLC is pretty well a black or white one.I welcome the DLC, Bethesda has had the same shitty house mechanics since morrowind, and an attempt to making having a house better is a good thing. I hope to see at least one Hearthfire like house in Elder scrolls 6. My only real complaint about Hearthfire has been my sympathies for XBox and PlayStation users...I was on Skyrim XBox until I became bored with it but wanted to extend it's life, so converted to PC so I could investigate mods.....now I'm hooked on the game.... ....I have just felt Hearthfires really narrow focus has really let down a huge swathe of XBox and PS3 users....I know I for one would not have bought it if I was still on the XBox either.....But for those who want it....have loads of fun.... Edited October 7, 2012 by StayFrosty05

RabbitI don't know what bugs other people have been having but I was able to build every house, get 1 of every wings, and get all upgrades for every house, with no bugs present besides having furniture I already built sometimes show back up in the list of buildable furniture, but even that went away when I used the workbench again. This sounds very encouraging. Naturally people are going to post the about the things that don't work perfectly for them, but on the board I've seen quite a few repeatable problems posted. Building my own home doesn't interest me so much what with the Creation Kit and all of the pre-made houses available already. Building a family unit does interest me greatly. I downloaded the Riften Adoption Agency off of the SteamWorkshop and found it to be hugely disappointing. Thank you for your views, Sajuukkhar, I really appreciate that. SFBryan18
I dot think we need more houses, the 5 in the base game was already too many. Well, the player doesn't have to purchase more than one home, so a variety of choices doesn't hurt. Would have been cool if they had an owner before you purchased them so they wouldn't stay empty. As for your second reply (which I didn't quote), I was unaware of all those features, and I think it will feel more like a dlc now. Thanks. Neshotah76
Hearthfire is pretty good in itself. The only thing is they really screwed up was if you finished the Dark Brotherhood Quests you couldn't build one of the houses. What were they thinnking when they did that?I built two of the houses that I could. - Yes I adopted two kids as well. They should have let you hire a nanny to watch them when you are gone. One bug that I haven't been able to fix yet is I CTD when trying to enter Breezehome, I did convert Alchemy Table to Childrens room. I was able to enter and add children's room to all other houses except Riften - haven't gotten to it yet. Any suggestions on getting the third house to work (Falcreath Area) would be most appreciative. Thanks

I was able to build all 3 despite doing the DB quests ages ago. Edited October 7, 2012 by sajuukkhar9000
Perraine
Let's also not forget that this now equals the two "exclusive" DLC that Bugthesda had promised to Micro$oft ... So from now on they can release DLC on all platforms simultaneously and don't have to listen to weeks of nasally whining and read volumes of boring pathetic emails from PC players ... It made quite a few changes to NPC AI as well.I've mentioned in other posts that I believed Serana was a "test case" for NPC's interacting with there environment (though with Serana it was a bit of overkill) and it seems that, with Hearthfire, Bugthesda have expanded the repertoire for NPC idles ... Lydia now sweeps the floor, cooks and ... sleeps! in bed !!!!!!
SFBryan18
The Breezehome CTD is caused by the USKP. There is a beta update to fix this issue. I finished the DB, and bought the Dawnstar home simply buy setting the Jarls relationship rank to 2.
