I might wait until it drops in price, reviews have said it's a little short and games developed by Bethesda tend to be broken and need patching.

fixed it for you.

the fact that they are publishing it would have nothing to do with if its buggy or not.

My post didn't need fixing, I know exactly what I said. Good publishers ensure products that carry their name are tested, Bethesda obviously don't or the stuff they publish wouldn't generally be broken.

well maybe im wrong since i dont play many games published by Bethesda that arent developed by them (if any), but what games did they publish but didnt develop that were broken upon release?

Well, he's kinda right. Rage released in a really bad shape, as did Skyrim.

Skyrim was developed by them though. Rage wasnt, and though i knew Rage had issues, i didnt think they were as breaking as the Elder Scrolls and Fall Out series are famed to be.

But Beth is a publisher, as a publisher you have the task to make sure that your game is PLAYABLE on release. For all the bad things you could say about EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Square Enix, they can release AAA games on time and fairly bugless condition.

expect one has made a game like BGS so you can't compare them to anything else and in rage john carmack said it was his fault. rage run well on everything but PCs because he thought he wouldn't need video settings. im not hearing anything about dishonored not working.

either way i played the first mission being as sneaky as possible and...... got caught every time and killed just about everyone. than i had to hear about how i was a mass murder.

i felt horrible about myself /sadface

again, since games they dont develop dont seem to have as many problems, then it still has nothing to do with bethesda being the publisher and everything to do with the developer.

More about reputation but I'm going off topic. I'm sad with the game's length though

Rage released in a much worse state than any of the TES or Fallout games, imo, bar maybe New Vegas. The first thing I noticed when I stepped out into the world in Rage was horrendous texture pop-ups that totally ruined the entire game. It still hasn't been fixed properly up to today.

Say what you will, but a publisher also plays a large role in the development of a game. As the one backing the project financially, it is their responsibility to ensure that the dev team does their job properly, has enough time to do it properly and not to greenlight a game for release if it isn't in good shape.
