Katschaba
What you're seeing shouldn't happen, I can't reproduce it.Vortex only groups mods if either the "logical name" of the file (the one on the files page, like "Skyrim Better Roads SE - Eastmarch Module") is the same (or Vortex thinks it is) or if the author has marked one file as the update for another (mod authors can do that during upload but it's not visible anywhere on the page) Neither should be the case for this mod so could you please, before you modify anything in an attempt to fix this, send in a feedback with your application state attached so that I might find out why this happened in the first place? Yeah, my want for different profiles diminished a little with this problem so I decided I wouldn't be changing anything right now because I am afraid of messing something up. So don't worry, I didn't do a thing with it :-) But I remembered that most of my mods were imported from NMM, could it have anything to do with my problem? //Edit: I also tried this - deleted the new profile and created different new profile and the grouping happened again. Feedback in Vortex submitted. //Edit2: Caused by transfer from NMM. Edited November 7, 2019 by Katschaba
Solution Tannin42 Posted November 8, 2019 Solution Share Posted November 8, 2019 For reference: Others may encounter this problem after importing from NMM. The problem is that NMM doesn't seem to store the id for the files individually (it does have the attribute and we import it but it seems to always be empty, at least in my test system and obviously for Katschaba). The result is that Vortex can't determine that the files in question here are separate modules and instead assumes they are different versions of the same file. I think I have a semi-solution for future releases (1.1.1 and later) but that will only help those who import with that version. For everyone else I'm afraid you will have to reinstall (maybe even "query info" or redownload) the mods that get grouped incorrectly.
Katschaba
I downloaded the problematic mods again, reinstalled them and it fixed the issue. So I can set the profiles without problem :-) Thank you. Edited November 8, 2019 by Katschaba

4nik8tor
Just ran into this problem with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30017 The main 1.90 version is the full mod, and 1.95 is a plugin-only update that isn't the full mod. If you download both parts via Nexus Vortex link, Vortex groups them together forcing toggle between them instead of simultaneously installing and using a rule to manage the overwrites. The only way I was able to sidestep the issue was to download the 1.95 version via manual download and add the archive manually to Vortex via the drop files feature. It then showed up as a separate plugin I was then able to install/enable separately.
