What hit me?

Ok, I have no clue what is really happening with my game. I add and remove a lot of mods and usually run about 90+. In the last year have had no real troubles. The other day I made the mistake of installing 5 mods at once as opposed to checking them one at a time. Got a CTD after loading screen. Ok, disable all 5 mods. CTD. Ok, played around with BOSS. CTD after loading screen. Old or new saves. Played around with TES5Edit, where I really had no business, am totally clueless there. Still CTD. Went into NMM and unchecked ALL 90+ plugins. Loaded my last save and it worked, of course I had no modded clothes or anything. Saved and exited. Started rechecking plugins, 10 at a time, saving and exiting game each time. Got every plugin turned back on and the game where I had no modded clothes (Cause I hadn't crafted them yet) worked fine. Every mod was working including the 5 that started the CTD's. Ok, so out of curiousity I loaded an old save game where I have modded clothes, etc. and it worked fine. Played for 2 hours. everything was great. Come back today and have the same issue. CTD unless I load the game where I have no modded clothes in my possesion. Then it works fine and from that game I can then load the save where I am in possesion of modded clothes, follower, etc. So, no idea what is going on and would greatly appreciate any clues? Hope I explained that clear? Thanks.

When you say "disable", does that mean you actually uninstalled them with some kind of mod manager, or simply unchecked the esp/esm files? There is potentially a big difference in what happens, depending on the nature of the mod.

I left the 5 mods installed in NMM but disabled. Until I rechecked all the plugins. Then I added them again and they worked fine.

When you installed those mods, did you have any "Overwrite" questions come up

Maybe list your mod load order from the BOSS log?

It sounds to me like one of your armor mods has a masterfile or a file requirement that isn't being met.

I had this. Problem was an outdated patch. Had to abandon SkyBoost for update 1.7

Ok, I am just totally confused here. I managed to run TES5Edit and clean up the dirty Update esm. BOSS gives me no other messages of anything needing to be cleaned up or anything. So, here's the story of present. I have one game from before I unchecked and rechecked all my plug ins. This game will CTD after loading screen.

The next game is from after I unchecked and rechecked all my plug-ins but then went into Whiterun, did a few things. Crafted some armor (Armor I have used for a long time prior with no issues) and exited in Breezehome. This game will CTD every 50 seconds. Yeah, I timed it.

The third game is from after I unchecked and rechecked all the plug-ins but then didn't do much. Crafted no armors, entered no cities. Fast traveled a couple places just to make sure there was no CTD there. This game runs fine.

So.....am clueless.....would really rather not have to start from scratch....any clues?

Not sure how to post my load order.
