Turned up Vortex one day to reinstall a mod and now its suddenly telling me that its ready to delete my mod data? Why is this here?, it was literally working fine yesterday and now this, this would make it the SECOND time Vortex has deleted my files willy nilly.

Where in that message does it tell you it's going to delete your mods? I suggest you read that message carefully, as it does not say what you think it says.

Something outside of Vortex's control either added or deleted folders in the mod staging folder. Have you edited the staging folder in any way?

Then what is it going to do if I tell it to apply changes?, because this wouldnt be the 1st time Vortex has deleted my files and forced me to redownload 4 games-worth of mod lists.

And no, I dont even know were the stage folder is.

According to that Message, you have either moved the Mod staging folder using WINDOWS instead of Vortex, or you have copied, or moved, or deleted mods from a folder that Vortex is expecting to find them in.

This doesn't happen at random, this only happens when people move stuff around OUTSIDE of Vortex.

The message is saying that Mods in the Staging Folder were DELETED.

SETTINGS---------->MODS

What is the path that's showing for you?

I can't tell what path its showing because Vortex wont allow me to do anything until I choose an option.

Regardless I have not moved the folder I have a hard drive specifically for game stuff and I havent moved that, as I said, it was working fine, and it randomly decided to start showing this message, again what would happen if I tell it to Apply Changes?, will it delete my mods?, because as I've said, this isnt the 1st time Vortex has randomly decided to do this.

Vortex doesn't just randomly present you with this message. It runs checks and, in this case, it found that the Staging folder has been messed with. Either it has been moved physically, you have moved files in it, deleted them etc.

It must have been by mistake, otherwise, I'm sure, you would remember.

Anything else you can think of that's peculiar/non-standard about your setup in general?

Why is everyone seemingly trying to avoid telling me what Vortex will do if I tell it to apply changes? will it delete the files as it has done before? anyways

No, as I've repeatedly said, I didnt moved anything, I have a hard drive specifically for game stuff, were all of this is and I havent touched it, neither have I moved around folders in that disc, I know because I have a lot of stuff in there and it usually requires a bit of planning before I touch it, and I have done nothing of the sort lately, you can keep repeating that something was moved as many times as you want, it wont make it true.
Also it wont help me fix my issue which is what I actually want to do, not see the same thing written over and over again.
As I've said, I turned Vortex on about 3 days ago and this happened I didnt move anything, and this isnt the 1st time Vortex has done something like this (man, I miss the old Nexus Manager, wonky as hell and held toghether by prayer, but it never messed with my files or deleted my instalations like Vortex does).

If you miss NMM that much, then just click on the DOWNLOAD VORTEX button and scroll to the bottom of the page and pick the COMMUNITY RELEASE

It's still being updated.

Yeah, except I migrated my load orders and links to Vortex a while ago and rebinding/redownloading the links in Nexus Manager will take A LONG time, not to mention I have to plan for the space those mods are going to ocuppy in the hard drive.

Thanks though, I didnt knew the Manager was still community-curated, your passive-aggressive response might be what I end up doing as an option given Vortex's wonkiness, thanks for letting me know.
