jwdem233 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Every time I try to click the manage button on SSE it gives me the error in the top right "The game location doesn't exist or isn't writable." Under that message in smaller text it says "E:\VortexMods" When I go the show details tab of SSE the path is set to my steam directory where the exe. is which is D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition. The Downloads tab within the settings tab says that my download folder is "D:\SkyrimMods" I don't use any USBs and the only other disk is my local C disk which nothing involving steam or vortex is downloaded on. Idk if i'm being mental right now but I can't find anything on it.
HadToRegister Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 "Show Details" on the "Games Managed" tab is correct. What does the path say when you look at the Mod Staging folder page? And the Downloads Page?
jwdem233 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 My mods tab says "Please select a game to manage first" but when I click the manage button on my SSE I get the "The game location doesn't exist or isn't writable." error that I mentioned earlier Here is my downloads tab
jwdem233 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 That's basically the issue I can't get to my mod staging folder because the "The game location doesn't exist or isn't writable." Error doesn't let me manage to actually set it up I posted the mod tab earlier I can't actually set up the mod staging folder it just says this.
HadToRegister Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Try reinstalling Vortex, something might have gotten glitched during the install, some AV programs can cause that
jwdem233 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 I disabled AV and reinstalled it still gives me the error
xScarletFlamex22 Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 I disabled AV and reinstalled it still gives me the error Same here! Any luck on figuring it out?
