  1. 1. Do you want me to implement a romance system?

    • No!
    • I don't care.
    • I'll decide after you finish the main plot and all characters are shown, you lazy bastard!
  2. 2. Preferred Female

  3. 3. Preferred Male

Perhaps you could add Homosexual options for the "boys who like joysticks, and the girls who like D-Pads"? As an optional file maybe? Just a nice touch, since New Vegas had the optional straight or gay perks. Just a thought.

The Sally bit is a bit squicky, to be honest. A female might go with Tercorien but I think it'd be best if he went with a TSC officer. Personally, I think the best thing would be to solidify an alliance with Lyons' Brotherhood by trying to match up Sally (after adopting her as your daughter) and Squire Maxson and a male Commander with Sarah Lyons or a female Commander with Glade or Tristan (Elder Lyons himself would probably be too old). I very rarely post on forums, so please excuse any strangness. Because Nylon said he was only looking for what archtypes people liked, I voted on the assumption that he was considering creating a new character for the purpose of a romance story line.(An assumption I know very well may be completely wrong.) So I chose solely based on personality.

I voted:

Female: Tanaka, Kurosawa, Nam (I'm a bit iffy on Nam, I feel like I could like her a lot but I'd like to know more first.)

Male: Trevelyan, Eligor (You shouldn't put too much faith in my male choices, I just picked who I might be buds with.)

Although I would very much like to see a romance within the TSC universe, I believe it should have little or perhaps nothing at all to do with the main story line. What I think would be cool is if the romance tied into a new, but much smaller, story line. (Maybe the size of one story chapter, but more spaced out.) One way I feel this could be implemented very naturally is if the prospective partner has close ties to another organization or government, and is perhaps introduced as a diplomat. If nothing else is planned for the New Soviet Union, for example, this might be a good way to reinclude it. Also, by tying them to another organization, you have more freedom to present situations in the story than if they were just part of the TSC. Perhaps I am giving more suggestions than I should, I have more I could say but I tend to not know when to stop talking (Or typing, in this case), so I'll cut myself off there. I can only hope I helped in some way, if not, I hope I didn't bother anyone.

the new smaller storyline is a good idea. that way all of the people are possible without it going against the story.

Haha, Thats why I said wait till she grows up, unless your playing a lolicon. I still don't understand why she has a sun burn when she's been on ship for 200 hundred years! That's a good idea about Maxson, I had forgotten all about him.

Whatever romance happens needs to seem natural and not like Skyrim where you can be married without romancsing your wife/husband.. I still say Kurosawa is not a good fit, the Commander needs someone who wants to be a homebody. Someone who loves kids and does not mind doing most of it alone since you will be so biz with work and yet will be loving and supportive.

So the Typical "Girls Stay in the kitchen" bit?

I Recently started FO3(Borrowed...Playing offline while the owner plays Steam online.) And have 3 male saves. One save is slightly into the "She takes care of the kids" idea, but isn't too concerned about it.

The other save prefers the girls in the "Bad ass" click. So he wouldn't want the homebody girl.

My last one is my "can't choose so I'll go out with all of them" save. So the Playboy.

One way to think of it is Passive Save, Agressive Save, and the What ever I feel like save.

Well, that's just heart warming! It warms the pits of my tiny, blackened heart!

Honestly, as far as Fallout-lore goes, yes and no. In the fifties, high ranking officers were expected to have a wife for social events. Parties, media, etc. But after the bombs fell, all sex discrimination would have dwindled in favor of survival. Which would be more important: image, or life? I choose living, thanks! So, a homebody romance could be a yay/nay situation.

History kind of shows that in survival situations sexual discrimination goes way up! Men become expendable and the women and children are protected as much as possible. That's why you don't see woman being put at risk in primitive cultures. Their value as homemakers, mothers, and breeding stock outway any concept of "equlity between men and women". A pregnant woman or one with small kids is not going to help hunters bring home the bacon. Only modern western morals say that there are no differences between the sexes and want to have men and women fighting togather. Edited by folker46
