Fresh Install, 7 Mods, Immediate CTD Using Vortex: FNV

Firstly, a huge "Thank You" to the modders who have shared their work here. Secondly, I am a bit nonplussed with Vortex; I ran NMM with NVSE, GECK, FOSE, etc... (the works to make everything jive) for over 10 years without ever running into an issue that couldn't be solved with some research and minor tweaks.

Now, I've DL'd "Vortex," loaded 7 mods, allowed Vortex to sort and make the mods play nice with each other (I ran 83 mods in the previous, NMM iteration w/o issue), and my new setup is an immediate CTD as soon as I try and zone-transition: irrevocable clusterf... unless I back-out all the mods and play vanilla. Having read the hype about Vortex, I was looking forward to not having to delve into GECK, FOMM, etc... and line-item these mods to work together.

So, the question is: given the hype RE: Vortex, its desultory performance at managing these mods, and my inclination to donate a sizeable sum of money to the site if Vortex turned out to be this "Wunder-Kid" it is described as, what's the point? NMM isn't supported anymore, and Vortex doesn't deliver on its promised performance. As I wish to have another run through FNV, with 80+ mods (on a high-end desktop system), do I: continue to piss up a rope with Vortex, go back to FOMM etc... to handle each exception, or just move on?

Any chance that NMM will be supported again?

Thanks,

first nmm is being supported. you can find it where you downloaded vortex. it's just not supported by nexusmods.

second - what mods are you trying to run with? no-one can help you if you don't give up pertinent information.

third - who "hyped" vortex? what "promised performance" are you talking about, and who described it as a "winder-kid"? (Should be wunder-kind).

Currently I am using Vortex to manage Fallout NV with 97 active mods. No problems here. Agreeing with Zanderat, methinks OP has problems other than Vortex. If he wants to continue with Vortex, I would encourage him to present his issue(s) using the following guidelines: How to Request Vortex Support.
