What's your bang bang, bro?

Hm, I know of no weapon that overheats. I mean the minigun's barrel turns red hot, but that's just aestetics. It doesn't actually overheat. You can fire until you need to reload and then go again. The Gatling Laser doesn't do that, but the functionality is the same. With all upgrades the GL has more ammo. Over twice as much ammo as a minigun. So that's something to take into account, especially in ealier levels when high level ammo is more scarce.

Ok, that was my mistake on two counts. Sorry about that.

1st mistake was that while it was overheating, the character got hit my a molotav cocktail. :whistling:

2nd Mistake was that I was also thinking of the Gattling Rifle, (a mod weapon) which decreases in speed once the barrels heat up to a certain point.

So yup....my bad on both counts! :(

I've changed over to a mod version of legendary modification, because the one I was using has a bunch of mods for sneaking. However, after installing a newer mod that affects my sneak, the legendary add-ons are kinda redundant now. So I'm probly gonna remove the legendary mod, and either go back to vanilla, or try using Captainoobs legendary effects again.

I really, really miss that explosive legendary. But most of the others I don't really use, because I can add it via mods.

Well!

THESE little puppies are sure effective! https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16952

Stun grenades. They work.

Too well! Still trying to get a handle on the blast radius. Because so far every time I use one, the next thing I see is my character falling over!

These on the other hand, I've been having some fun with. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/30909 Paralyzing grenades.

Lob one of these li'l suckers into a group, then fire off a round or two from the Jackal, and just watch the body parts rain down :D

When I was playing last night, I was over by West Everett estates, where there are a LARGE number of Super Mutants. I cleared the area, and was wandering around, picking up all the good stuff, when another patrol appeared. (thanks PANPC...) I was using a Magpul Masada, in 6.8spc..... a highly effective weapon.... (and full auto, of course.) I saw the first couple SM's coming around a corner, so took a bead, and shot the first one right in the face. Imagine my surprise when he went flying thru the air, flipping end over end, for probably around 100 yards...... (yep, he was difficult to find, and loot) As the firefight progressed, yet another patrol showed up...... (so, roughly 8 or 9 SMs total.) Fired a burst into the chest of one that had gotten rather close, and watched him FLY back, at HIGH velocity, and slam into a concrete retaining wall. Which killed him.... That was just weird. :)

Think I need to find the realistic ragdoll force mod for FO4. :D

HAHAHAHAHA I totally visualized what you were talking about. Great first laugh of the day! Thanks HeyYou!

Damn, I wish you had both those scenarios on vid, that would be completely awesome!

Reminds me of my testing of the Pancor Jackhammer mod last night.

A really interesting shotgun, that has a wide variety of ammo, including explosive rounds. I however did NOT know that it was a FULL AUTO (only) shotgun, so that came as something of a surprise!

It also reminds me of the video that captainoob did on the Tank Gun.

This thing... omg. With most of the ammo, the blast radius is soooo big that you can't use it indoors without killing yourself. In one shot.

The only ammo that he was able to use indoors, would cause so much radiation that he was killing off mobs in other rooms. From the radiation.

The blast from that thing is also so heavy that with this gun, he was causing ragdoll on a behemoth that was STILL ALIVE.

This gun is also so freaking huge, that if you're not wearing power armor while using it, there's penalties to your movement rate.

I loved the Pancor Jackhammer. The 'room broom'....... :D Essentially, a lead hose. That was my favorite weapon in earlier games.

The the 88mm man portable tank gun........ Never mind that the recoil from that would blow you backwards through a couple walls, even in power armor. :D And the recoil spoils all the fun, you don't get to see your target blown into atoms. :D

I've been having some fun with the Pancor. It really is making me think about switching back over to vanilla legendaries tho, so I can get that explosive legendary back again. Tho I'm gonna HAVE to cheat that gun. 10 rounds in it, just NOT enough. Not when it's constantly double tapping, from the auto.

Hahaha that tank gun. Yeah, there's definitely some issues there, if we wanted to involve physics.

Recoil. VERY true. That's why I don't like the 50 cal sniper rifle vanilla version. Using a scope, you literally cannot tell if you hit the target or not because of the barrel hop. Same with the gauss if you use it for sniping.

I honestly don't think it would blow you through a couple of walls. Just the muzzle blast would definitely knock you over, but I think that if you actually even managed to keep a hold of it when it went off, your hands and arms would by lying next to wherever the darn thing landed, and the rest of you would be laying somewhere else.

The next question, is... if that really was a man portable weapon, would your brain survive the concussion, if outside of a suit of environmentally sealed armor?

Ok, so here's a gripe. In 1st person, recoil kinda acts the way that it does IRL. Bringing the gun up, but also mostly BACK when using a rifle. (Hence, the black eyes that some people get from scopes) but 3rd person, they don't work right. They just run all helter skelter upwards.

The vanilla answer to the Pancor Jackhammer was the combat shotgun. You can mod it to a 32 round drum magazine. I don't think it has the high rate of fire that the Pancor does though, but, that's an easy tweak in FO4Edit. :D That, and I think there actually IS an "Explosive Combat Shotgun" laying around, or for sale somewhere. (Libertalia? Vault 81??? Don't remember.)

Naaaaah, I'll keep the pancor. Other than no real sighting options, I like the model a lot better, and the sounds are just sooo much bettah!

There's none. The only explosive weapon I know of is Spray 'n Pray.

That's right, the submachine gun. Thank You.

You could always fire up the cs, or FO4Edit, and point the combat shotgun at the sounds for the pancor. :D
