So far so good with the new NMM. No killed downloads tonight. Thanks again for all of your hard work -- I realize how frustrating it can be to fix problems like this.

No offense but I dislike NMM. One of the main reasons is files split into seperate parts. A good example of this is better followers. If you attempt to install it through the NMM it thinks certain parts of the file are out of date.

I'm also guessing its the culprit behind some of my dropped downloads, even though I use a traditional browser for those. ><

Hey this week i paid for a life time membership, in an effort to give you some cash to fix the downloads. Hopefully NMN is fixed so that at least one mod out of 6 (actual count by the way) does not fail, like it has the last week.

hope that gets fixed some time soon.

The new version of the NMM lacks those yellow triangles... so i have to check through all my mods now to see which is updated -.-"

Also, some of the supposedly new version numbers for mod are also wrong.. like SkyTEST shows that 1.27b is the latest version, while there is 1.27E out... and it wrongly shows that i have 1.27b installed, while it's supposed to be 1.27E....

Same with SkyRe and most other mods... nice update, it messed up my manager :/

I like the update. Hopefully a few more hotfix will weed out the remaining issues.

One to begin is the yellow triangle notification marks for updates.

And i would like a right click option for mods that takes you to the NMM download folder highlighting the mod file, for a quick access to manually view the file contents when needed.

Wouldn't it be feasible to query multiple mod versions in one call? Right now, if you have 100 mods, checking them for updates is 100 calls to the page. But if we could instead send the mods we're interested in in one call and the page would reply with the current versions in one response that's 1/100th of the calls right there.

Also: Right now you're releasing a new version of NMM that you would like to distribute ASAP and then you are reducing the frequency at which users will be informed about updates to once every three days. Is it me or is this a logical flaw? You are reducing your reaction time to updates in an urgent update...

skyrim is a complex mechanism. Mods are even more complex than skyrim itself.

how can one trust the tuning all to a program? not to say NMM is not good. but personally,

i prefer to filter, install, update, download mods all manually so as to understand the file structures of the mod, getting hints of what the modder is trying to do and to scan manually what the new mod file replaced which old file that has been stable so far and to back up whatever file the mods replaced.

Such simple yet complicated and somewhat tiring method has make my skyrim stable and almost perfect 0 conflict. (the minor few conflicts cases come from the bad programming of the mod itself and not because i accidentally misplaced or overwrite the wrong file in the wrong folder etc.)

Some mods got updated. It is the users' reponsibility to see if the new updated patch means it is the best. From experience, sometimes, older version of the mod works or is better. Therefore

newest doesnt mean it's the best. Again, programs are not programmed to do that. They have zero intelligence to do that.

Now, if a program is to serve the entire human population, the program itself will be in the middle ground where it is programmed to "ignore" the minority and serve the "majority" (give and take).

i simply wouldnt allow myself into that kind of position because it can over-sight some minor mod problems and eventually chain reaction or snowball so far that it became hard to trace.

i know my post doesnt really help much in terms of the NMM but it will help some of those who seeks alternative or provide better understanding prior to using a program to manage mods.

Lastly, mods are not written to Integrate into many of the mod managing/utility program such as boss, nmm, wyre bash etc. it is the other way round. therefore problems are bound to be inevitable. The only fool-proof way is still the old reliable way of doing yourself manually.

2c & peace =)
