Hey everyone, I understand if none of you have the time for such a beaten to death topic but here we go.

I'm on Vortex v1.1.5

Windows 10; Administrator account

I'm trying to install some quality of life mods for The Witcher 3. Everything is generally fine except I can't seem to enable write access for my file folder. It's asking me to enable it for D:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\thewitcher3\DLC

I have no DLC folder in there. I've tried removing read only to the entire folder to no avail.

My staging folder is D:\VortexMods\witcher3

I'm sure I'm missing something but just know I didn't run to you overnight. I've been struggling with write permissions for days.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

Are you running Vortex as an Administrator?

If so, don't.

There's a difference between being the Administrator on your computer or having the Administrator account, and running a program as an Administrator

No, I'm not. I've read through a number of the forums here on this topic and I still can't get it going. Thanks for your reply.

Click on GAMES, click on the + sign on the Witcher 3 thumbnail, Look at the path, does it show "D:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\thewitcher3\DLC"?

If so, then click on MANUALLY SET LOCATION, and browse to the Witcher 3 game folder and hit OK or SELECT or APPLY or whatever the button is labeled, to set the path correctly to "D:\steamlibrary\steamapps\common\thewitcher3"

I'm still getting No Deployment Method Available. The notification is still asking me for the same DLC end file. My noob thoughts are telling me I cant grant write access for some reason? Everytime I deslect read only it comes back after applying. I've granted myself full permissions in the security tabs of said folders. Could this also be because I selected hardlink deployment originally?

@HadToRegister

Witcher 3 supports Hardlink and Move. I initially played Witcher 3 using Hardlink Deployment. The mods I had installed had no scripts, and everything ran well. Then I installed some scripted mods and had to merge them using the upgraded Witcher 3 Script Merger. Initially, after running Script Merger, one of my mods appeared not to run correctly. Since I was more interested in playing the game than in trouble shooting a mod, I switched to Move Deployment. All is well now.

Do you have the DLC for Witcher 3 installed? If not, that would account for the missing DLC folder.
