When I load a save I go bald, start spewing ice from my mouth, and die

I have no idea which mod is causing this as I have about 450 of them, but I have tried narrowing it down by disabling any mods I think might be responsible and that hasn't helped at all. How many of those ESPs are flagged as ESL?

Because there's a 254 ESP limit

I have 181 ESPs when I check in xEdit, so I don't think that's the problem. Any other ideas? I have a feeling it's a specific mod but I'm just not sure what would cause such a random issue as this. It's usually easier to pin down based on what's happening.

Sounds like radiation poisening.

 

Best thing to do is uninstall mods starting with the one you installed last. And add your plugins list between

 

(reverse order) tags, please :wink:

I apologise for what will probably be necro, I'm simply leaving a solution here for those who in future might get this bug. (mine was actually worse, I had no head at all). Whilst I have no idea what causes it, I have discovered that it is exclusively tied to Autosaves. Quick saves and manual saves will work fine, so make sure you quick save when transitioning between world spaces.

I am also bringing this up again. I have the same issue with about 230 esp non esl mods using one of the larger collections and a few extra quality of life/legacy museum mods I like to look for. I have the issue with quicksaves as well as autosaves once I get a character to about level 27 the issue will pop up. When the save is loaded I am not where the save actually took place, am naked, all skills reset all mods go through their initial startup and of course spewing frost magic at everyone in the room.

So, for the people "having the same issue", have any of you clicked on the OP's SPOILER button and compared your Load order with OP'S?
One of the things that OP's 450 esp/esl load order is missing is a BASH PATCH. Yea, there's a specific bash patch, but not one that covers the entire load order (*WACCF_BashedPatchLvlListFix.esp)
(OP didn't mention it was a collection or not)

Also, for the people using "Collections", are you just using the Collection AS-IS (as you should be), and not adding anything else, or are you haphazardly thinking you can install several collections together, and/or installing a collection and believing you now have a 'stable base" that you can pile other mods that you want?

Have all the mods in the collection been updated for the version of the game you're playing? Because this can be an issue as well, and there's not much to do about it.
