Jun and Marcy

So tell me peeps, what do you do with them? You can't assign them to a different settlement, or at least when you do they don't move there. And they stay annoying for your entire playthrough. Jun gets a bit better over time, but Marcy remains a biatch. In many of my playthroughs I lead them away from Sanctuary with console commands. Then set them as non essential and gun them down. Marcy more often than Jun.

Also I always thought Marcy was his mother. Geezus it's his wife. Wtf this couple.

Those two, I honestly can't stand them. I won't go so far as to say that I dislike them the most, as I honestly can't stand ANY of Gravy or his crew.

Those two however, I can...kinda sorta... sympathize for tho.

Now, don't get me wrong, back when I was actually playing where I would rescue the settlers, I was constantly muttering under my breath about Jun to grow a pair, and Marcy to pull the cob outta her backside. She however, does finally get a bit better after Sanctuary gets up and running. Jun, he's just a whiny little baby. Marcy tho, has got some of the brattiest sound in her voice, there at the museum, before starting up the quest to get them out.

As for why I kinda sympathize for them. Jun, watched (and most likely did nothing!) as his son was killed, and his wife raped by raiders.

Marcy, watched (and probly did nothing) as their son was killed, and then was the wife who the raiders had their way with.

While I haven't found anything concrete to back it up... you will notice that the two NEVER interact with each other. This is why I think that Jun was a little puss during the whole trouble they had with the raiders and didn't do anything to try to stop them. Him, he's obviously riddled with guilt. Marcy won't talk to him, so... that kinda speaks for itself (no pun intended).

One of the ideas for a mod that I never ever get around to working on, is a spawn grenade. You throw it at big nasty critters that can really tear stuff up. When the grenade hits, Jun and Marcy (well.... clones of them anyway) pop out and I will proceed to watch the gory ending of them with a big grin on my face.

they have one conversation in Sanctuary if they find eachother. But other than that they're just two settlers with annoying voice/dialogue and a name. I don't care if their son was killed and if she was raped. It's not ffing my fault. I'm helping them and they just wallow in self pitty and annoy the sh*t out of me. I understand that it's a grueling experience and that some people will lose themselves in such an experience. I just wish they created characters that didn't. I mean they could have created Jun as an actual man that was angry instead of crying like a 10 year old. And I just hate Marcy. Don't understand why anyone would even want to rape her.

To quote a line from the Movie "Heavy Metal"..... She ain't gotta talk for what I wanna do with her...... Of course, shortly after he uttered that line, the speaker was a head shorter...... :D Gotta remember, the raiders wouldn't really care what she had to say, they would do whatever they wanted anyway, and leave her to wallow in her own misery.

Once I get them to sanctuary, I just assign them to farming, and ignore them. Once sanctuary is up and running, I only go back to visit Preston anyway. (I like the experience points......) I have mods that prevent settlement attacks, and Preston can only give me one quest at a time. (when I turn one in, he can give me another.) Of course, through the course of the game, you run across settlements that Preston has NOT given you a quest for, and if you help them, or even so much as talk to them, (and get their quest....) then when you go to turn it in, Preston gives you one, along with the one you get for turning in the quest he DID give you.... So I still end up with numerous quests from that idiot. I think once the castle is secured, he stops giving quests for a bit?? I think??? That may be a mod as well.

No he doesn't he will never stop. Once you have the castle he keeps giving quests to obtain more settlements as part of the main story. Once that is done he will keep giving them as long as there's ones available. Once that is done he switches to the ones you already have, but just assigns new issues to them such as raider/mutant attacks or obductions and such. He. Will. Never. Stop.

That, being just one of the reasons why I don't rescue him or his crew.

I pretty much canNOT stand ANY of them. They move into MY home, start getting all bossy and needy, and then cop an attitude if I don't wanna give it to them. Sturgis, is particularly an asshole about this. To be honest, Mama Murphy is the only one I can tolerate, but oh lord, I can't stand to look at her. That deathclaw she killed beat her with an UGLY stick before it died!

All around, I don't need their chit. From any of them. I leave them all locked up in their little hidey hole in the museum and just leave it at that. Or maybe do a quck save, shoot the tar out of them, and then leave after reloading.

Oooo, just had an idea for a mod. Since we can't kill either one of them, by vanilla standards... how about a mod that lets you throw a sack over their heads, and muffles them. Replaces all their dialog lines with incomprehensible mumbles, as we stuff a dirty sock in their mug.

I think I remember a mod that makes momma murphy younger, and cuter. :) (but still with the same voice......)

yeah, I remember that mod too. I think it was by kekebu. (he/she?) does some pretty good work. I've converted some of their NPC presets over to looksmenu presets for personal use.

ohhhhh my! A mod that actually makes these two mother flockers worth a drek! Kinda. They're still as dumb as cold poop.

obligatory warning about foul language and near-nudity in the vid.

Marcy is not meant to be that big of a b-tch, but it's actually a bug (believe it or not, lol) :

This fix should really be in the unofficial patch, but I don't think it is.

You can totally skip Minutemen quests, and talk to Preston after all the main quests and DLCs are finished, by the way. In one of my playthrough, when I went to Concord for the first time....at level 80 or so, as the Director of the Institute, the sentry bot from automatron and a brotherhood vertibird showed up along side Raiders (there are spawn points for those right around the corner from the museum). I was like, "yeah....that looks like they need a help."
