I was blocked from this mod page by the author

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42689?tab=posts

All I said is that I love this mod and that it would awesome if he increased the max damage and firerate to the damage and firerate of the western revolver.

if someone knows something that I dont know please tell me so I dont make the same mistake again with other posts in nexus.

best bet would be to pm the author about said ban, to potentially get it lifted, or at the very least get a better understanding in why exactly you was blocked from their content,

as judging by what you wrote, if you wrote it exactly as is and have no previous history with said author, then i cannot imagine any author banning anyone for that type of comment, as it is basically asking for an improvement in a friendly manner, potentially could be seen as constructive criticism (positive comment, followed by negative comment in a friendly manner, positive being you love the mod, negative, saying the dmg and fr are to weak, and its in a friendly manner, because of the way it is worded, and that you like the mod.), , which should be welcomed by authors, as it helps create a better product.

either way i cannot see any problem with your proposed comment.

so yea, i would defintely pm the author about it.

this is the message I get when I try to access the mod:

"

Blocked

The author of this page blocked your access to this content. This is not an error with the site and the Nexus staff will not get involved with unblocking your access, so do not contact the moderation team for help. Accessing an author's page is a privilege, not your right.

You can try to amicably resolve this issue with the page author, if they'll let you, but be warned: if you are rude or break our terms of service when contacting the mod author and they report you it's extremely likely you will be banned completely from these sites. Is it worth it? You decide.

Ok, so you might want to remove the link to the message screenshot. That's considered to be a violation of privacy

Alright, so yeah, it does seem like from his response, that he didn't appreciate your criticism. However, I've very familiar with what the site refers to as "Entitled Behavior" from members. NOT that I'm saying that its what you were doing. ONLY saying that I'm very familiar with it. Now considering that Vig publishes mostly weapon mods, S/He has most likely seen a lot of people either complaining about, or requesting changes to his mods. That happens to most of us authors, but especially weapon and armor mod authors.

S/He's probly just tired of it.

Tho, authors with this perspective, really should warn people in the description, or post a comment that is stickied to the top of their posts tab to warn other users about what they will or won't tolerate in their posts sections. Many of my old mods had warnings about lore mongering or crying about immersion.

The reason y I took a screenshot of the whole email is because I dont want people to think that I changed anything in the email.

and yes I agree he should warn users about what he tolerates and what not. Just as he had time to reply to me in the email he could have just replied to me in the forum or post. Having said that I see a lot of mods where users request changes to the mod I really dont understand what is wrong with requesting a change to the mod, that is part of being an author and have audience reply and exchange ideas and opinions. Doesnt the forum in nexus exist so we can exchange ideas and request changes to the mod?

Heyas Senju! I'm not being judgemental or anything about you posting the screenshot, just saying... yeah, that's an invasion of privacy. If said person were to complain about it to the staff, there could be an informal or even a formal warning issued against the member that posted it. Depending on how the screenshot was being used.

I personally wouldn't appreciate it if somebody was posting things I'd said in a private message, over the internet. I'd probly block the person from any contact at all after that.

That's me.

Now, a couple of things that I've noticed, and this is common for pretty much any armor/weapon mod. There's a bunch of people already inundating his post section with "Can you, could you" here on the nexus. That's not counting what he's probably getting from the crowd on bethesda.net (who act like a bunch of overly entitled, gimme gimme gimme [right NOW!] little brats to modders).

NOT that I am saying that you did that. I have no idea. I'm just saying...this is the kind of treatment people get when they release Awesome mods, that just aren't "awesome enough" for everybody.

There's also other people who are chiming in with "Well if that's how you want it, do it yourself." Which, all said, mods for FO4 are NOT difficult to change for damage or speed.
