Barrett m82 Sniper Rifle

nothing passes the time better than arguing about guns, lol

 

Nowhere does it state in this game or previous fallouts that the 'BIG GUN' class is defined by indirect weapons, maybe the US military say heavy weapons are indirect fire only weapons but this is not the case here, any who i'm playing with "welcome to the wasteland" which has hand guns, rifles n heavy weapons so i have to use it as a heavy weapon or else it goes to the hand gun skill, rifles take the place of energy weapons n energy weapons get scatted between the 3 skills...

Actually Vashts, Im not opposed to you releasing it asap. Who cares if theres 2 barrets?

There's a simpler if not easier solution to the ammo problem for the Barret. Why not just make M2 machine guns for some of the super mutants? They had them in Fallout: Tactics. It uses the same ammo... and in considerably larger amounts. Oh and to completely solve the problem with super mutants holding tiny guns, I'd say give the plasma and laser rifles back their original designs and sizes. I'm not sure why Bethesda made plasma weapons exclusive to the Enclave anyway... plasma weapons were in the Fallout games before even the Enclave was.

Actually it wouldnt be simpler because we would have to model, uv, and texture a browning m2, and then get that in game.

 

The barrets are on the verge of launch from what i gather. So it would be easier to just modify the loot lists of NPCs, enemies, and containers.

Having a Browning .50 machine gun would be neat, too, though. ^.^

Not really, considering that either you'd be utterly starved for ammo to feed it, or there'd be so much .50 floating around that you could just use the Barrett through the whole damn game.

True, there is that... but still, a whole bunch of the super mutants used these in Fallout: Tactics, and it fit well because it was a huge weapon but still common enough for a horde of green-skinned uglies to be wielding them. And who says it's a bad thing to be starved for ammo for a particular gun? This is post-nuke survival after all. Maybe you could make the M2 something you could find for your own little wasteland fortress... if someone makes a mod to build a sort of keep like in NWN2 that is.

I am honored by your thoughtfulness but I am not a thunder-seeker so feel free to release when ready...although I thought we still need the CS and some sound clips. My part in this mod is actually a little too insignificant to even warrant a spot on the credits. It is just UV Map stuff. Speaking of which, I was not able to get any further this weekend. My free time is a bit more resticted lately.
