Heyas Rugsmuggler - Ok, you're leaving us a bit of a disadvantage here, because we don't know what you've done.

But, I would say it would be an idea, to try a save from before you added the mods. If the problem isn't there, then you've got some broken save games.

HeyYou - there are rings called "cheat rings" which can be modded in. They're really Not rings, but more like placeholders for spell effects.

While we clearly don't know what Rugsmuggler has done with his modifications, I can't say if that's the type of rings that he's talking about or not.

ya i cant give information without telling my whole life story cuz im not even sure where to start. ill have to just do an earlier save. the rings were just a cosmetic mod that i can say 100% has nothing to do with it. anyways just thought id put this up to see if anyone heard of it or could point me in a direction. thanks for taking the time to try to help!

Heyas Rugsmuggler.

LOL Well...while you're response really piques my curiosity, I'll go ahead and be courteous, and not ask ;)

But yeah, that's really all that I can think of. If you've removed the mods, then the only thing that I can think of is the baked in scripts still located in your save games.

Unless by chance, your mods utilize f4se, in which case, you'll want to remove the mod files from that also.

You mentioned that you don't have anything that tampers with the body slots, so that one is out the window. :(

I will go ahead and mention this tho. And I say this a lot here lately. When you're testing out mods, don't do it on your regular playthrough.

Have some disposable save games set aside for that. That way, if you either don't like the mod and want to get rid of it, it's buggy, and you want to get rid of it, or just don't think that it's worth keeping in your load order.... you can then just remove the mod, and delete out that character, without any remorse. ;)

I also recommend keeping backups of your saves in a separate location on your computer. I do that with my saves, my game, and my appdata folder for fallout4.

In case someone finds this in the future while searching for the solution to the problem, I found out that you can't equip rings if you are using some (possibly all) unarmed weapons. I found it specifically with the ballistic fist from Classic Unarmed Weapons, but I haven't tested any others at this point.
