StormWolf01
Computertech- I agree. Pretty much. Tho, you do have to pay for that first set of PA, by fighting that Boss level deathclaw. If the set in Concord is what you're talking about. At least as far as NPC's are concerned... the power core is the huge Asian <- LMAO that is NOT what I typed! Ok. It won't let me say it so I guess I'll substitute that with weakness. in the armor. If you score a VATS hit on that core...it shuts the suit down, and traps them in it. It's been a long time since I pulled that stunt, so I don't remember if it kills them or not. Interesting. Didn't know that about the no power core and the settlers keeping it in their inventory. Damned thieves! lol.Yeah, it's been a loooong time since I've played with settlements. Edited February 12, 2020 by StormWolf01
HeyYou
If you target the Fusion core, and actually hit it, it blows up, killing the guy in the PA, and blowing him out of it. :D Fun to watch.
StormWolf01
isn't there like...a second or two where they try to get out tho?
HeyYou
Depends on what you hit 'em with. :D There is a raider on the waterfront, with a transit station there as well. (subway) He is a great opportunity for testing just what happens, as he walks up and down the waterfront in his power armor. If you come in from the opposite end (south, I think) you can get a really good firing position on him, and you can target his FC in vats, with a good chance of hitting it. I REALLY enjoyed watching him get blow to bits. :D I reloaded several times, just so I could see it again. :D Think I was using a .50 caliber sniper rifle....... so, one shot, one kill, in any event. StormWolf01
LOL that might have been what made the difference. The last time I shot the core was back on the PS4, using a WackyWeapons version of the assault rifle.Maybe I'll pop it with the Jackal the next time that I come across one.or...maybe set Danse to non-essential, and try out on him  THAT I could replay a few times! :DOr... maybe even not set him to non-essential and see what it does to him a couple of times. Tho it might not work with him.... hmmm. [Edit] Bah! I forgot that the quest sets him as essential, and overrides the esp setting. :down:So yeah, targetting him there at the cambridge police station without running thru the mission, and all that, didn't kill him. :verymad:Tho yes... you can target his fusion core :D [/edit] Edited February 12, 2020 by StormWolf01
HeyYou
What happens if you shoot his fusion core? :D
StormWolf01
I popped it with a weapon that does 430 damage. It didn't blow. The damage dropped him to the ground with no health, but still being essential to the quest, he didn't die.I dunno if that's something to do with his essential tag, as I was too tired to want to play through til after that mission was over. But I don't see anything different in his character sheet that would suggest that his power armor is any different. I'll still have to compare it to raider tho. Moksha8088
I think of power armor and the yellow frames as decoration for the rear property line of the Red Rocket. Especially nice is the red one from Far Harbor and the blue one from Nuka-World. Those armors break up the monotony of the other decorations. StormWolf01
Under the protected flag, he would still be killable by the player character, just not by anything else. And I wasn't able to kill him. Tho I might try it again, later on. Thinking about it, I was already using a modified (face changed) esp for him that I just edited further for the non-essential. I don't remember if the face change was in effect when I was testing his core. I'll have to double check that, my .esp override may not have been working. Moksha- yeah, I really like the new paintjobs from the DLC's. I tend to line most of mine up in that circular drive outside of Croup Manor after I get to it. Red Rocket would be pretty cool tho!If you want to make those look a bit even better there is this mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38599 which cleans up the rusty crusty look off of them ;) Edited February 13, 2020 by StormWolf01
