Mouseonmods
Reinstalled Skyrim and Vortex. Then I tried out a few mods while looking around in the start carriage. Saved and left the game before the character creation. Now I was doing a backup from every important folder and copied them to another drive. - the skyrimfolder in steam- plugins & loadorder- the whole vortex folder- and the folder including all downloaded mods archives Then I restart Vortex and get this attached message :(What I'm doing wrong? How can I fix this?
BigBizkit
You didn't actually attach the message/screenshot you meant to post. Can you upload it to e.g. imgur and link it here? https://imgur.com/

BigBizkit
Vortex will output that message when you are changing the staging folder directly. It seems that you have created sub folders in the staging folder (skyrim, and skyrimse) and then moved the mods you had in there. That's not a good idea as Vortex expects to find your mods for e.g. Skyrim in "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\skyrim\mods". Your best course of action would be to click "Quit Vortex", and then move the mods back to where they were before restarting Vortex.
Mouseonmods
No, I only copied the folder to another drive. Created no folders there. It was an empty folder before. Can't see the folders in the staging folder. There are only the mods and _vortex_download_folder_vortex_staging_foldervortex.deployment.msgpack Edited March 9, 2020 by Mouseonmods
Mouseonmods
It worked!! Found the folder in there and removed them. Now i can start Vortex again. It seems there was copies in the skyrimse folder from the mods in the main folder. In the Skyrim folder there was fnis only but I already installed it in the normal folder aswell? I can remember that the fnis scan popped out after every file. Then i clicked "use newer file". But good that it can be reversed now, thank you! :D Hmmm.. everytime I'm opening Vortex, he creates an empty skyrimse folder there. is that the intention? Check your mod staging folder path in vortex for Skyrim SE under SETTINGS-->MODS
Mouseonmods
Everytime I'm opening Vortex he creates this skyrimse folder. And if i install new mods it is saving the archives in this folder. Okay now I got it. My settings looking like yours and I was clicking on apply aswell. But if I clicked on the folder it was leading me to the "my games" folder. But Vortex showed me the right path under the input box. I hope it's solved now after the second apply. Thank you. Mouseonmods
Well, the settings now lead to the correct folder but vortex still makes a new skrimse folder. :pinch: Should i name my staging folder "skyrimse"? Tannin42
Staging folder and download folder must not be the same nor subdirectories of each other! How you even managed to set this up is the interesting part...
