Zekerbox
What sort of computer do you have? I have zero problems with ugrids set to 7, but I daren't go any higher. Riprock
Not sure how I missed this thread. Very useful tips and tweaks
GlassDeviant
hmm...I am not even using an SSD, here are my specs: i7-3930K (this might make a difference as the i7 is more of a gaming chip)32GB Kingston DDR3-1833some old fashioned magnetic hard driveDual EVGA GTX670 SC+ 4GB2560x1440 Dell LCD, fullscreen at native resolution Perhaps there is something else that is messing up your performance and preventing you from using a higher uGrids setting? Nonetheless, uGrids is a setting of dubious use and I plan to use a few alternative mods in place of it next time through the game, once this run is finished. Riprock
Oddly, my in-city microstutters are still around. But my wilderness stutters are all gone now. I'll have to play around but for sure, this thread helped me a lot
Virulence
Yeah er I'd suggest against forced hyper-threading with Skyrim (which is what you're doing by adding the threading lines into the ini). It can improve performance but any time you push a game engine (or a computer for that mind) beyond its normal state for performance it comes at the cost of stability, especially in this case as it's one of the weaker aspects of the original engine. Since stability seems to have been the issue to begin with you actually risk exacerbating the problem. Skyrim already originally threaded to two cores and some of the patches have improved its ability to thread beyond that, however the engine is ultimately not designed well to do it. As such, this means its ability to manage load between different cores isn't great. It's like making a juggler juggle more balls: if he's not good enough at it, he'll end up dropping the balls (CTD). If you're having no stability issues whatsoever then maybe go ahead and try hyper-threading for a performance boost. If you're having stability issues then look elsewhere. And if you're having both performance AND stability issues then you're unfortunately just going to have to scale back somewhat. masoncravens
So i found this kinda late but i am using the backgroundload mult-threading and the only issue i have is i am only able to load games, i can no longer start a new game, after selecting it, the interface dissapears but the mainscreen and music persist, after removing the threading tweaks i am able to start a new game, i get great fps, but would like to know if anyone has gotten this and if there is a solution

You do realize that you have a 6 core i7? The x79 platform does really well with SLI, and I think the dual x16 helps there.
