taryl80
For me as a companion mod author I need to say... Why is negative affinity something negative (sry I couldn't resist) in the mind of some guys? Every human being on earth has things it likes or dislikes. Even animals have preferences. The only thing that has no preferences are robots and even that is somehow wrong if we really look at it, because they need maintenance (in rl). Imo, to give a companion dislikes is one important way to make them believable. I would also nobody in rl trust who says to everything from me "yes" because that means in the most cases that you are not important for this person. StormWolf01
Kanami - No problem, always glad to pitch in where I can ;) Yes, AFT can affect their likes and dislikes. Tho it does it differently. What it does is give us the option to turn their DISlikes, into Likes, and vice versa. So it's kinda like the No Negative Affinity, but with Bennies! :D Yeah, the ones that I mentioned are actually just... nice and simple. Nora Spouse is definitely one that anybody who is intersest, should definitely try. It's one of those mods that as a gamer, I recommend experiencing. Again tho, I just don't like Nate's voice tones, and again...I'd rather be focusing more on leveling up and making sure I take my perks correctly. *caugh* ignore my batch files *cough* As for their locations. yeah, that's another thing for me too. I'd rather have them close by where the starting point of the game is. That way, I can go ahead and go get them at my own convenience, rather than have to go chasing across the map to go find them. Most of Captainoob's companions are fairly close to the vault. He has some that he's placed elsewhere but most of them are pretty convenient. I'm really wishing that I could dig into the affinity system a bit more. Back when I was playing DragonAge Origins, we had gifts that we could give to companions, that would boost their affinity levels. or, in a few cases, was a requirement for reaching a certain percentage level with X companion. And could spark an affinity or item based conversation with them. I always kinda missed that, and thought it would be cool here in FO4. Taryl - Oh! Wow, had not realized that you had some companion mods! Hm, interesting, I will have to try out RandomPanser!I definitely see what you're talking about, as far as the negative affinity. And I don't disagree with you. It's just that I've played this game maybe 40 times, if not more. I've run through the affinity system a whole lot more times than I would care to count. I think that part of my negativity towards the affinity system in Fo4 is that there's no real payoff for it. Ah, a perk. Wonderful. A few dialogues about their feelings towards the protagonist. Cool. I got spoiled in the above mentioned game. I mean, I know there are mods that can expand on that, but many of them get a bit too ummmm "detailed" for what I'm playing the game for.NOT that there's anything wrong with people adding more spiciness to their game. I mean, yeah...that was one of the nice things about DAO, was "tent time" after all.Oddly enough that game started us out with a dog too. (depending on which origin you took). taryl80
For me is the affinity system the "right dose" of a "simulated character". I like story companions, but I don't like it if it would go into infinite details, if that makes any sense. I mean, I don't wan't to talk from 1h gametime, 50 minutes with 1 npc as example. I think the affinity followers are a good middleway between the extrems, aka. the companions without affinity quests and companions that are build to be on your side the whole game. What my mod matters Stormwolf, so I wish you many fun with it. Hope you will like not only the companion, but also her story and the worldspace. To build the worldspace was a time grave for me . Edited April 10, 2020 by taryl80
StormWolf01
Heyas Taryl. Yeah, I'll definitely give her a try here soon. Tho I may have to tinker with her a bit, I don't think I have a color mod for that hair color. :DI've got some kinda graphics issue going on that's causing a lot of infinite load screen problems. (due to me trying out some different godray and fog remover, and texture optimization mods that didn't pan out too well) before I start modding the game again. But yeah, she's downloaded and on my "todo" list. ;) As for what you're talking about with her worldspace. That, yes...I can truly imagine that it was. I know just building anything has gotten progressively harder and harder, with each time Bethesda releases a new creation tool. I think it does make sense. To use a different angle. I really like anime. But, I like anime that moves along. That progresses fluidly and evenly. Where the dialog doesn't over-shadow story progression, or puts a damper on the action.Anime that is overly intellectual, or they spend too much time in dialog, and not doing anything.... triggers my ADD, and I lose interest in it very rapidly. Tho, it does make for really good background noise to battle my insomnia when I need to get to sleep, hahaha.
kanami24
Zoey Companion https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37515 This one I've been playing with. It's fairly basic. No romance, no worrying about what they like, and what they don't. Just another gun that likes to talk. And..trashtalk. She's a fun companion, that is fairly attractive (tho I personally went in and fixed her nose...) that will help out in a fight, or complain about having to carry your stuff.Downside... my personal gripe, is that they placed her right there with the Concord Settlers, which I can't stand them. So I have to put up with them, when I go to pick her up. But, I can still leave the rest of them stranded there in the Museum. I just went to concord to get Zoey. Firstly, I'm taking the time to do my first raider playthrough so I went to Nuka world at lv 20. Not only that, so far I have successfully dedicated myself to not cheating (i.e. using exp explorer to get more ammo or tossing legendaries on my weapons that I use from playthrough to playthrough and giving them truly unique names). SO -- that's why it took me so long. Honestly much more fun and its hella tough. I've been abusing the absolute fk out of the take cover mod though. At anyrate, when I did that DLC completely this time (I usually just kill all the gangs and go to every park), I went to concord. Since I already had Valkyrie with me from the project Valkyrie mod that I am testing to drop a compliment on that -- I spoke to Zoey, tried to ask her a question. There were no dialogues and we just stared at each other. Then I just decided to go ahead and clear concord and come back for Zoey. When I did that, I tried to speak with her and nothing happened... I can't recruit her or enter a chat with her :v. Have you encountered this issue before?
StormWolf01
Heyas Kanami. Ugh. No, I haven't. I've only tested her out with about 3 toons so far. And that was mostly running from the vault, to Concord. Or to gather other companions, then to Concord. I do know tho that she is allied to the Minuteman faction (which can be removed from her files via Xedit, because I already did that :D ) so if there's anything about the runs there in Far Harbor that you've done that would conflict with the MM's, that might be the cause of it.Also, if you're not using AFT on this run, or another multiple companion mod, that might be the problem. I also haven't tried Project Valkyrie, so I dunno if there's any conflicts There, or not.

I also haven't tried Project Valkyrie, so I dunno if there's any conflicts There, or not. I'm still using AFT lol. I also read your comment above. First, I wanna apologize, I hadn't been on the forums since my last post prior. I was prepping for my raider playthrough, re-exporting all of my settlements and fixing my settlement list to order them in which ones I would most likely get. (i.e. 1.)sanctuary,2.)red rocket, 3.) tenpins bluff, 4.) zemonja, and so on.) So that took a long time due to me building each and every one of my settlements up from the ground and them being roughly 800-1,000 objects at minimal and my largest settlements (sanctuary, the castle, and spectacle island) being nearly or over 3,000 objects. So, with that being said, I didn't know aft can do the same thing as uhh no negative affinity lmao. You just saved me a mod slot I think, that is if the mod is a .esp, I'm almost certain it is. Annnd I didn't know Zoey is aligned with the minutemen. I did have the option to recruit her during our first chat, but like I said I wanted to wait after concord was cleared since I already had Valkyrie with me. So, I think what I'll probably do is do a few misc minutemen quests and then go back. Doing this also helps me test out another mod -- a very new one in fact. Minutemen Radiant squads: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/44355?tab=posts You can see in the comment section where I asked about it and what not. So yeah these two tests will be very interesting once I log back onto fallout 4 here in a minute
Moksha8088
My favorite companions besides Heather Casdin, are: 1. R4-04 and Audrey from Tales from the Commonwealth.2. Sarah Lyons and Valkyrie from Project Valkyrie.3. Harley Quinn from Depravity.4. Darlene from I'm Darlene. When going with just two companions, my favorites are Heather and R4-04. None of the vanilla game companions are as good as the ones from these mods.
Zorkaz
All in all I have to say I'm surprised how well done and professional these companions mostly are.Back in the Oblivion and Fallout 3 days these were really amateurish productions. I guess it has a lot to do with the availability of good and willing voice actors and equipment.
taryl80
Would we be able to endorse forum posts, I would endorse your posting now Zorkaz :) The voice actors that lend their voice for free to voice a companion, or main/side character can't be praised enough.
