tritonforge
Not meant to be salty or draw attention to my own posts. Just observing and curious; after going back pages on this forum it seems there aren't any actual modders to fulfill requests, just people to gather round for small hype and suggest existing mods. Is there a different location to reach capable modders more directly?
Ethreon
Why would any sane person waste their time sifting thru hundreds and thousands of inane posts, specially when it's guaranteed that most modders have more than enough ideas to go around without needing "suggestions". Rabbit1251
If there is a mod that you want made bad enough you are perfectly free to make it yourself. If you run into questions the modders here will be more than happy to help you out. The Rabbit
tritonforge
I'm in agreement with both your answers, and both answers support my observation. Doesn't answer my question though. Wondering if there's an offsite forum where modders actually talk or look. Could save everyone here from wasting time. I don't even see one mod request that garnered real modding attention. And the whole point of this subforum is non modders making requests, not non modders becoming modders out of frustration. Walking into McDonalds and asking for service, someone says if you want a burger make it yourself. They dont have to serve everyone, look for yourself, no one is getting a burger. Everyone standing at the front talking about yeah that burger idea would be delicious. I don't mind paying for a mod request either. Just somewhere that capable modders even look, because this place is functionally useless it looks like. TRCMods
The short answer is no. It's not a matter of getting our attention it's a matter that we're all busy. Consider this, modding is a creative hobby, be it 3D modeling, level design, stories and quests or even scripting. It's all something that requires creative passion. And creative people have ideas, lots of ideas, usually too many ideas than we know what to do with. Now consider that even simple mods require weeks of work we've got plenty to keep us going. We simply aren't interested in your idea unless by chance we happen to already be working on it. As for paying that isn't going to work out either. The going rate for freelance 3d artists is $20 to $30 an hour. And you aren't buying a mod from us like in Creation club you are paying for our time. And as I said good mods take weeks to make. The investment wouldn't be worth the payout at your end. This whole board basically exists to keep requests from filling up other boards. If you want it best thing is learn to make it yourself. The community is very supportive of people actually trying to make things.
Ethreon
I have no idea why you thought you could use this forum to directly contact mod makers. It's just a place people can post ideas with no guarantee given whatsoever. I suggest you start picking up tools and then asking for help when stuck, you're more likely to get an answer. tritonforge
Totally got it, I still don't mean to sound like I want free effort. For the going rate, I'm still very open and able to ask for a quote of hours and pay the 20-30/hr because it's worth it to me. Especially if it's a simple sound replacement or skeleton pose, my ideas I believe take the shorter part of a day and I'd rather pay for that time than to spend more researching and studying. I just don't know if this subforum has enough eyes or if there's something like fiver dedicated to skyrim modding where interested modders might take on small requests for payment. My goal is to realize something, and since this place isn't functional toward that end there must be another? Unless I can get an answer to my original question and the answer is no such place exists. Edited April 11, 2020 by tritonforge
TRCMods
Again I really don't know anywhere that you can actually contact an author. We're very open to sharing info on how to do something but someone to actually do the work for you is very rare. Also while you may have some vague idea of how much time you think it would take you really have no clue. I don't mean to sound insulting here but we often see posts about how easy xyz would be to do by someone who is suggesting months or years of work and has no clue what they're talking about. I really agree with Etheron here. Try it. If it is as easy as you think then it's only a few hours work and you've empowered yourself to do it again any time you want. Further more you may get a taste for making mods and by the time Star field and the new es game drops you could be able to produce all kinds of crazy s#*! and get those mad endorsement dollars. tritonforge
Ah okay then I'll look into what's feasible. Sorry for bothering, I wanted to find the fastest way to materialize a mod idea and compensate someone if needed but I'll give modding methods a looksee. Thanks for your patience and explanation.
