Stubborn Error Message

Whenever I start this fancy not-so-new Vortex mod manager, I get an error message caused by the lack of a drive.

It doesn't stop the thing from functioning but it's about as obnoxious as the "SLOW DOWNLOAD" button. That drive died months ago and I replaced it with a new drive that I gave its own special letter and everything. What I need to know is how to remove whatever insufferable little file keeps telling "Vortex" to look for files in a non-existent drive. Uninstalling and reinstalling hasn't fixed it and deleting anything related to "Nexus" in my boot drive hasn't stopped it either.

Nope, that didn't work. The last time I used Nexus' mod manager it was called the Nexus Mod Manager anyways.

Could it be "AppData\Roaming\ModLauncherWPF"?

P.S. Not currently using any mods. That's an old reference to ESO from who knows how long ago, before Vortex.

Again...

"But it would help if you tell us what GAME you're playing and modding."

I have never heard of the path "AppData\Roaming\ModLauncherWPF" involved with anything to do with Vortex?

What IS that?

OK, from your edited post you said it's an OLD path from ESO "long Ago"

Which probably means that it's not supported anymore?

It did not. But also, you keep referring to Vortex specifically.

I had never heard of "Vortex" until using this supposedly new mod manager just couple months ago, after the drive was dead and gone. Paradox games

have been my time sink for a while and they all have Steam Workshop support. So I had no need for Nexus mods for a period of time. I know ESO was

among games recognised by my Nexus Mod Manager. Vortex must use the same files to some extent if it's yanking up old NMM references.

Yes, and you keep blaming Vortex for your problems, when there's no way that Vortex could be trying to reference your ESO install unless you told it to. especially since you installed Vortex after your Hard drive with ESO didn't even exist on your system.

If anything, Vortex referenced your "Nexus Mod Manger" xml file, because you told it to, when trying to import your previous mod installs, which is why Vortex now has faulty information.

Because Nexus Mod Manger regularly corrupts the export data that Vortex needs to import all of the mods that Nexus Mod Manager has installed.

It's a common problem in the Vortex support thread.

I doubt I removed the NMM beforehand, so what you say is likely the case. But I must hand you another but. The typical offending folder's deletion has not fixed the problem.

Well deleting the NMM folder AFTER the fact, won't fix it.

Or, are you talking about the deletion of the Appdata\Vortex folder?
