NoelOne Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Starting Mar 31 or May 1 every time I load a game I get a crash that takes my System down and forces a reboot as soon as the game starts. (Win 10 - Steam launcher)All my steam Games, including Fallout are experiencing a Total System Crash on Load. I'm looking for suggestions to help. I've cleaned everything. Ensured all proper game ports are openMade sure AVG has exceptions for the game launchersAll drivers are updated. I'm losing my mind. Totally out of ideas. Any suggestions at all?
HeyYou Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 If the whole system needs restarted regardless of what game you start, that's likely a hardware issue. Test RAM, and the HDD, and see what comes up.

HeyYou Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Try blocking the games via your firewall. See if that changes anything. (windows should have a built in firewall for just such an occasion.)

It only happens with games that go online or, 'reach out' like Steam games. Anything I play on the PC plays fine. It's not AVG, total shut down and test, no joy.
HeyYou Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Check in your installed programs, and see if you got any new updates, or interesting programs in that time frame. Have a look at startup programs as well. I don't like AVG. It's spyware pretending to be an anti-virus. Especially the free version. If you are running windows 10, you simply don't need it. Defender is more than adequate to the task.
