Vortex scan stops immediately after starting

So I just installed vortex. I did a quick scan in order to start using mods for skyrim special edition. The quick scan came back with no games found. I click full scan, the bar starts...and then immediately stops with no message. I tried adding the directory path manually, but that solved nothing and the problem persists. Does anyone have any solutions?

Have you looked at the GAMES tab, and expanded the UNMANAGED section?

Any games found will show up in color instead of black and white
