Appendant
I doubt it'll take place in San Francisco, we've already been there in Fallout 2. However, it would be cool to see San Francisco and the surrounding area revisited in the same time frame as Fallout 3 and New Vegas. DarkDragon6667
If rumor is correct, then it'll likely take place in Boston.
TrickyVein
I'm OK with Bethesda taking the series to the East Coast and wanting to keep it there. It's different from the classic games, but it's what they want to do with it. And Fallout 3 was a decent and fun game. Looking forward to it, wherever it takes place. Deleted3507349User
How about Florida? Just think of the possibilities; the swamp, Cape Canaveral, all the military bases...
TheFourthHorse
My money's on the Commonwealth; androids and the Institute could make for a compelling story.
TrickyVein
How about Florida? Just think of the possibilities; the swamp, Cape Canaveral, all the military bases... Bethesda took a chance by moving it to the East coast in the first place. They had to invent stories to explain how the BoS, FEV, the Enclave and *cough* Harold were there (none of which made a lick of sense). But now that we are here, it'd much easier to expand on the lore they created in Fallout 3 then to move - again - to an entirely new, geographically disparate region like Florida and have to explain how or why any of it matters or is relevant to the previous games. Ironman5000
I can see FO4 being Skyrim with guns.Well seeing as Skyrim is like Fallout with swords (apparently, and I see similarities) then I would not be surprised at all! TrickyVein
Hang on. That is complete silliness. There are worlds of difference between the complexity of the two games. Consider: Skyrim does not make use of primary character stats unless you want to count the three (3!) you get to upgrade at each level, not to mention it has nothing like the SPECIAL system. This means that every profile in Skyrim can be the same. While the skill-trees in Skyrim offer appropriate perks and overall progression, some are completely useless like lockpicking and speech, unlike Fallout's skills (mostly, anyway). One does not have to worry about tending to armor and weapon condition in Skyrim either. Health and magicka regenerates. Skyrim does not offer 1/10 of the complexity for a proper RPG that a Fallout game does. I can't imagine that Bethesda would consider dumping the SPECIAL system in Fallout 4. It alone guarantees that the game will offer a richer character system than what's made available to the Dovahkiin.
dragnhuntr666
From what I heard, Boston, but Oklahoma City was also in the running for FO4. Oklahoma was mentioned in FO3 and FONV.
