offishall01
Hello, As I am new to the community, hello and thank you in advance! I downloaded vortex as my first fallout:nv manager and have noted it's excellent and stress-free way to manage and install mods for me quickly, but soon found myself struggling with more technical options. I eventually figured out load orders and was able to launch appropriately the mods I got from Nexus by reading mod instructions etc. I made sure to get FNV 4GB and NVSE installed then a clarity mod and tried a few other things. All seemingly worked which was great ! I didn't need for technical computer file handling, Vortex did it, to my dismay, performance plummetted and my game never crashed as hard as vanilla did before getting vortex and some anti-crash mods etc! Upon testing and crashing along, I noticed vortex runs too many instances at once and drained much of my RAM. I first tried Vortex fallout:nv without steam, no go. Then removed unnecessary mods leaving only NVSE, YUP, FNV 4GB and clarity. To no avail. I removed clarity and noticed a slight change but more crash and a feeling vanilla was better. Now I operate a small dell laptop with integrated graphics and just a month ago, I was astonished and thrilled to see such a game actually work. Of course performance lacks behind even mediocre performance but nonetheless playable since when i owned the game on xbox360. I eventually rolled back to just essential patches only to feel the same. Of course again I couldn't deny the truth, upgrading the pc...eventually. I said f*#@ it, Vortex is fine a program but too heavy for my ram. I have 8 GB RAM.My computer is running windows 7 and I cant even hop to 10 cause some bs MS files prevent updates... or what... I uninstalled vortex sadly and deleted fallout:nv from steam and re-dowloaded. I then applied manually the FNV 4GB patch and NVSE. wow, all of a sudden a miracle. better than vanilla and smooth. Great! but upon installing the above patches, i noticed how, even after reinstalling steam, vortex files old mods still appear in the game folder... How can I remove all Vortex files from my FNV game ?
offishall01
There seems to be my manual install of NVSE and FNV4GB there and also the vortex managed files for the same patches.but also the unpurged mods left over after Vortex and NV uninstallation i.e. sound fx and YUP
divotdog
remove mods from the vortex launcher if you don't want them to appear again. using the purge buttons is a great way to get rid of them all if your trying to get a fresh start.

How can I remove all Vortex files from my FNV game ? It sounds like you uninstalled Vortex without PURGING and Uninstalling your mods, and then you picked UNINSTALL Fallout New Vegas from Steam, which will leave your Game Folder intact if there are other files in it.So what happened was you uninstalled Fallout New Vegas, Steam removed all the New Vegas files, and left the New Vegas folder, along with all of the Vortex files you should've uninstalled BEFORE you uninstalled Vortex. You need to select UNINSTALL New Vegas from Steam, and then go to your Steam\steamapps\common\ folder and completely DELETE the Fallout News Vegas folder,
