M48A5
You can use any mod manager you wish. No one is pushing VORTEX down your throat. What does VORTEX have to do with activating a mod with NMM? Also, why do you have two mod managers installed?

It does not have the features that Nexus mod manager has like click on a mod and get a description on the right. It certainly does, just double click on the mod, and an entire INFO panel opens up on the rightDoesn't seem like you spent much time with Vortex at all... The problem you're having with Vortex is that you're for some reason also using NMM USE ONE MOD MANAGER All you have to do to install a mod you manually dfownloaded is to drag it to the big bar at the bottom of vortex that says DROP FILE(S)That huge area at the bottom where it sways DROP FILE(S)(If it's not open, the click the up arrow in the bottom right hand corner) You can fix it by, Not using Vortex AND NMM, you're causing them to fight over a plugins.txt. If you MUST go back to NMM, then all you had to do was scroll a little bit farther down the Vortex Download page and pick COMMUNITY RELEASE, for NMM, but you'll be losing out on a LOT of features. Pants279
I love using vortex. It's extremely well made, and whenever there's something that comes to mind that I need to do, it has a built in feature for. Like today, I was running low on storage on my main solid state drive, and wanted to move all my mods to the disk drive where there's more room. All I had to do was open vortex, and change the folder where all the mods for fallout 4 were stored to the new drive. Easy peasy. This is a feature I wish I could use for all things on my computer! If my entire computer was run through vortex, I would have no complaints.
