Please help my with this one

Maybe it's the Dragon Priest Purple Smoke effect. Have you tried that fix (along with the fixed script)? See post #9.

I think Isoku designed it that way. You should contact him for any issues with that mod.

Edit: you should read the sticky post in the Wet & Cold comments thread for instructions for reporting bugs.

Does anyone have any idea what this might be, and how to remove it? My active magic effects screen shows nothing that shouldn't be there. Here's my load order.

I thought it was just a random equipment effect at first. I can't remember when it began, and I unfortunately don't have my old saves to try to pin down a time or cause. I'm inclined to say that it started a few hours in, sometime around the time of the Murmulnir attack on the watchtower outside Whiterun? Could be wrong, though.

Symptoms:

- An aura of small, pale cyan, amorphous blobs which quickly drift upward like ashes before disappearing.

- A very skin glow, also pale cyan.

- The blobs/bubbles/ashes trail behind when I run.

- A bunch of blobs are constantly floating up from my hands in first-person view, which is extremely distracting. There is also a small, constant crackling noise, like a spell.

- The blobs and skin glow are visible while underwater and in werewolf form.

It looks almost like the moth priest thrall effect mentioned on the first page, except the glow is significantly less bright, and there are a lot more floating blobs. For what it's worth, trying the "addspell"/"removespell" method with the moth thrall effect didn't help.

A few other things I've tried:

- Removing all my equipment—No effect. Although I still have the following irremovable quest items in my inventory: Aeri's Note, Amulet of Talos, Gauldur Amulet Fragment, Meridia's Beacon, Nurelion's Mixture, Pelagius' Hip Bone, Sylgja's Satchel, Tolfdir's Alembic, Unusual Gems.

- The commands "resurrect 1", "dispelallspells" and "removeallitems" commands targeted toward the player—No effect.

- The "showracemenu" command—The floating blobs were still visible, but they stopped moving. When I left the character creation menu, they began moving again as normal.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

I would bet my dollar that "Wrath of Nature" mod is the cause of your trouble. Any mod that transforms/shapeshifts the player into any creature other than werewolves or vampires is *guaranteed* to break vanilla scripts and magic/visual effects. Bethesda designed their creature ability scripts in a way that they would simply break if applied to the player.

Very useful, I think after the latest patchs the game is more susceptible to randomly add spell effects to the player. I remember in my 3 first playthroughs never have one of those issues. And now the glowing draugr effect happens to me at least once in every new character along with the ice atronach one.

Now, a problem. I have this issue... It's not a player effect, It's actually my character adding effects to npcs. Let me explain.

Every time I hit someone the soultrap effect appears, even if I hit them with spells. Not the whole soul trap spell, only the blue-violet glow effect, it vanishes after a few secs, just like soul trap. Is the hell of the annoyance.

It's not from a mod, I can tell you that. Not sure, but seems like it started to happen when I enchanted a nord hero war axe with the soul trap enchantment. If I try another save with a different character the effect no longer appears

Don't think I'm stupid, I'm not hitting anyone with that axe, but the effect applies to any attack I perform (1 handed, 2 handed, bows, spells)

Since you all are talking magic effects; does anyone know why spells would get mixed up? Every time I enter a new cell, what ever spell I have equipped will become some other random spell for the first cast of each hand. When it does this it actually changes in the menu so that I must either change it back by regular or favorites menu. I have not added any magic mods what so ever for quite a while now. check my downloads if you prefer. I would very much like to fix this. It began the night before last. (Sunday night)

Just to be perfectly honest; the only things I have downloaded in the week are:

aMidian Landscapes

aMidian' Caves

Boris' enb binary .200

Boris' CTD fix

Thanks for any help,

J
