BlackArcKiller09
I just started using Vortex and whenever i try to set my mod folder and mod staging folders to a Vortex subfolder I made, instead of just setting it as the folder, it copies all of the files from my Gaming/PC folder into the mod staging folder this includes all the game data and folders from steam and origin. How can I stop this from happening? I didn't realize it was happening until i saw that twice as much file space on my 6TB external hard drive had been used up. i simply want to set a new folder, not copy or move anything
Tannin42
When you change the staging folder Vortex will move the existing staging folder (defaults to c:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming\vortex\<game id>\mods) with your existing mods that you previously installed through Vortex to the new location. It's not moving anything other than your previous staging folder If what you're describing is real and Vortex moves stuff that isn't mods that you installed through Vortex then something else got messed up before, something you left out. Which is why we can't help you because since you're not describing where you are we can't tell you how to get where you want.

BlackArcKiller09
Yes, that's what i did, and now it thinks that my steam and origin folders are mods and is moving them as well instead of just my mods

They should be something like this D:\Vortex ModsD:\Vortex Downloads
BlackArcKiller09
just did. as of right now, I'm copying my steam and origin folders from my 6tb drive to ,y 2tb drive, then I'm gonna delete them from the 6tb drive, set my mod staging folder as 6TB:/Gaming/PC/Vortex/mod staging, and then copy my steam and origin folders back to my 6tb/gaming/pc. is there another way where I don't have to do it like this? it'll take a day just to copy everything from the 6tb to the 2tb
