Metal Gear Rising: Revengence

Whoops. I accidently posted in PC instead of other consoles. Well maybe it has a very small possibility to be released on PC after launch so I guess it is appropriate to post on PC.

 

I watched gameplay footage of this game, and I can't wait for the release of Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, the next title of the Metal Gear Series, on February 2013 (not sure what date). I have my doubts about if it is going to get positive reviews because people are saying that this game breaks the Stealth Action of the series.

people are saying that this game breaks the Stealth Action of the series.

I'm with them there, I saw a trailer for this and said "This is joke right?!" because it has got nothing to do with the original concept. It looks like a Metal Gear spin-off made in a kind of Devil May Cry meets God of War style combat...nothing of the sort was in the other titles however I missed MGS4 so maybe something went off on a tangent there to kick this off?

 

Either that or the trailers are actually a joke, maybe showing something that happens in-game as a dream sequence or VR simulation? They seem to do stuff like this to throw the audience off in the game, like when they intentionally break immersion toward the end of MGS2, or even in MGS1 with the psycho mantis trick? If it is that kind of stunt then not sure it works to their advantage...but...Raiden is definately a cyber-soldier type thing and would have bionic skills sooo...maybe this is it? :psyduck:

 

I am kinda looking forward to this and have been ever since they released the teaser pics a good long while back and the action looks epic, but it's not MGS by a long shot if we get what we see! :laugh:

If you are a true die hard fan of the metal gear solid and the story, its a given. The only reason why they made this back story is the fans, lol wanted to control him.

also, it is not Metal Gear Solid. its Metal Gear Rising.

 

i have complete faith in this game. Kojima was still a huge part of this game so i guarentee it will be fun. you had to have played MGS4 to want to play Rising though. once you saw Raiden in MGS4, you wanted this Game. that said, you dont have to have played MGS4 to understand whats going on in Rising, though it does take place 4 years after the events of MGS4.

 

 

 

but i am also excited for MGS5.

I've never played an MSG game, as I've only recently ventured onto PS, I KNOW that it's an extremely notworthy franchise and that Hideo Kojima is a great dev, but I don't know much about them. I'm a big combat/shooter fan, but I'm as stealthy as an elephant in tap shoes walking over a floor paved in cymbals while escorted by a marriachi band. Would it be worth me checkin gout, considering what little information I have suggests it's a series in ascendance? I'm not big on stealth though, I tend to get frustrated part way through and take my silencer off.

I'm guessing if Raiden is now a super-human soldier then sneaking wouldn't be required that much, although I remember seeing one FMV trailer where he was sneaking about a kind of warehouse so maybe they will keep some of this in but I reckon it will be more of an action game rather than espionage.
